First off sorry this has taken so long to get up, I know alot of ppl are waiting to see this happen.

Secondly sorry for missing out Yarmouth on the poll for the location, i can see that a few ppl were upset by this, this was a genuine mistake by me. Maybe instead of The Isle of sheppy for the 'put the Zed's to bed for the winter' party we can go to Yarmouth instead.

Anyway on to the dates.

JAE is on the 20th - 22nd of July i believe billing is 14th - 15th so we need to decided as an area if we try for something before these dates or after them, if it's before then we/i only have a bout 4 week to arrange it ifit's after it gives us a little more time.

So the preposed dates are as follows:-

7th/8th of July (first week of July)

or

5th/6th of August (first week of August)

leaving it late it to august means that the end of summer party might not actually be in the summer! and the weather might be starting to get a bit poo.

i'll leave it up to you guys!

I'm away for most of July but August would be good with me.

hi mate,

I should have the car back anyday now. So looking forward to making an appearence in the reborn silver streak :)

I got to say, if your organising it, just pick a date and tell us. There will always be people who cant make it and youl not please everyone. And the only way youl find out the day the majority can make it is if you ring us all up 1 by 1.

Too much choice

The august date is the week before the Offley show that I hope most of the region will make it to. See the link in my sig.

Am up for 7/8th of july though as I probably won't be going to billing or JAE.

Darrell

Thanks for trying to organise this, could I make a suggestion would it be better to have the meet at the end of the summer, e.g. septemberish?

Then it won't be either side of the biggest meet of the year and other halves are less likely to get the hump from 300zx overload, also less people are on holiday?

Having trouble getting much definitive info out of these threads... could it be that I'm missing the obvious... ?

Where is it going to be? And obviously we don't know when yet..

If I can, I'll come along as long as it's not any further from Wokingham than Brighton is...

Times ticking away and nothing is decided. When is it gonna be then?

Late summer is good for me!

wow the Sliver streaker, haven't seen you around for a while. hope all well bud. :)

aint seen you around to sort this out either lol

Pick a day. Pick a venue. then tell us.

We will either make it or not make it. ALready people are dithering Humming and Ahhing. There isnt 1 date so far mentioned that isnt perfect, and there is never a date teh other halves will want to go to. May I point opout that July is the DRIEST and SUNNIEST month of the year.

September is a tad cold and damp.

Just go for the August date 5th/6th and be done with it, if people turn up they turn up, as Deve8 say's your not gonna please every one, August is still quite hot, cant be any worse than the weather at the moment.

Still nothing! Put this down as a no go again then. Where is our organiser anyway? Not been on for 2 weeks

If he's not been on then I'm sure he's either away with work or got other commitments. Send him a text or wait until he's back

Sorry Guy's Internet went down and only just got it sorted out!

This is it.... what you have all been waiting for :D

Well times cracking on with this and the weather is Crap! was hoping to get 2 big summer meets in but that seams very unlikely now

So what i thought was 2 meets within a meet as such.

Start off where we first said for a day out then a little drive and finish the day off somewhere else, this way hopefully more ppl will come, either to the day or to the evening one!

Date....... Sunday August 12th

Places,

Right to start off we'll go with the first venue of The Chafford Hundred pub, say 11ish, then after a spot of lunch and a few :duffer: :duffer: :duffer: move on to Yarmouth as i know this was a popular choice that wasnt included in the poll, hoping to get there for about 4 ish the a spot of dinner maybe a few more :duffer: :duffer: :duffer: and finish the day up about 8ish or when you lot bugger off :D

I know there is about 150 miles between Thurrock and great Yarmouth but for me it's a 400 mile round trip from home to Thurrock then to yarmouth and then back home again

Now we need def numbers simply because i will obviously be around the whole day and i really dont want to be sitting on my own all day.if you can come to one or both then great if you cant then well you cant, And if theres no / not enough interest then i'll cancel it.

I need DEF numbers please ppl, i'll try and sort out some personalized stuff as well but i can will only do this if ppl want it and ppl put there names down.

I'm not moving the date or the venues, this is it the SE summer party!

I will put up a map of the Yarmouth Pub when i find one with a good size car park, taking the Mrs away next weekend so will pop in and have a look around

Think thats about it.....

so roll on with your comments

Neil

Just two questions?

1. Why are we not going to brighton as it won the poll for the choice of venue for this event?

2. Why are we going to Great Yarmouth, which is a town that is well outside the South East region, in fact I think it would be easier for me to go to Cardiff/Birmingham for a meet than Great Yarmouth?

http://www.theaa.com/travelwatch/planner_results.jsp?displaymap=true#map

3 Hours and 17 mins journey time, 146 miles and I am centrally based for the south east, there are many members further away from me as well:(

If Yarmouth is out side the south east then i have no place being the SE REO as it's more south east than me

The total traveling time for me is alot more than that, evens the REO, i could have just made it all closer to me,but i didnt, i'm prepared to travel for a big meet like this. but i have listened to what the SE east wanted, more ppl would have gone to Yarmouth had it of been on the original poll, so thats where the meet is going to finish up.

3 hours???

i did a map quest from Brighton to Yarmouth and that only took 2 hours! where in London are you coming from? The south West Side?

As it has been said before it really doent matter where the meet is i'll never please every one, all the time and as it was also said just to choose a place and a date which i have done. and as i also said if you cant or wont travel to Yarmouth then just attend the meet at the Chafford Hundrad pub.

Neil

I have just done a routefinder on multimap and AA, and from my flat Yarmouth is 146 miles and 3 hours 15, and brighton it is 180 miles and 3 hours 25!

On the poll for the location of this, 7 people voted for brighton and 4 people mentioned great yarmouth in the thread.

I have never heard of great yarmouth being labelled as being in the south east region, on the forum or off the forum, steve cybernet when he was reo drew up an approximate northern boundary of the se region at Ipswich.

Neil I don't where you are coming from but I know you travel around a lot through your work. I am not questioning you, but some where that is on the same notherly point as birmingham, is not somewhere I would consider suitable as a location for a SE region party. Have a meet there by all means but don't stick a label on it that makes it for the SE region, IMO.
