...The dashboard is lifting up along the vents by the windscreen..has anyone else had the same problem, and if so, what's the cure?

I have the same problem..

I already found instructions on how to fix it, but didn't have time to do it yet, so I can't tell you if it really works.

First get some 2-part epoxy.

Remove the defroster grilles, (2-piece, split in middle of dash). No screws, just little

metal clips. Pop them out by using a flat-blade screwdriver and working from the interior side (not the windshield side) from left-to-right. Grab a large stack of newspapers, you'll need them to hold down the dash as the glue sets. You'll also need some q-tips to apply the glue to the underside of the dash that has come loose. Mix up the epoxy following the directions, apply liberally to the underside of the dash (it helps if you have tiny hands and are triple-jointed, not much space between the windshield and dash), push the dash back into place, roll up a bunch of newspapers and shove them between the dash and the windshield. PUSH HARD as the newspapers will want to squish out and not hold the dash down.

I left mine in place overnight and my dash looks like new.

You gotta be quick with the epoxy, it sets up really quick, especially if it's hot.
