Blimey it feels strange to be posting back here :D Anyway I dont have my zed anymore but the old man does, it just stopped on him last night and the wouldnt restart.

 

From memory and a quick flick around here it seems to fit with a PTU failure.

 

All the auxiliary belts are turning when the ignition turns so engine seems to be turning over freely, just wont start.

 

Not had a chance to look at it in detail but any advice on things to check would be great.

just to point out he dosnt have my 95TT his is older and I think will have a series 1 PTU.

But does the Timing belt Turn??

Fuel pressure ok?

 

If it was ptu, the symptoms would be intermittent.

Thanks for the suggestions but pulle one cam belt cover last night and it aint turning!

 

So guess that keeps me busy this weekend!

All back together and running again (just a few bits left to go back on) :D hadnt broke just stripped a load of teeth, new cambelt retime and running sweet again. Sussex stu even appeared at one point and helped the old man remove the crank pulley.
