Can someone solve an arguement for me please :

I've changed my front wings for viper front wings from Z centre and i'm wanting to take away my side repeaters so the wings are totally smooth :

But 1 of the mechanics in my work says that you NEED side repeaters in order to pass an M.O.T and another mechanic says that it depends on how old the car is, but he does'nt know the exact age it needs to be.

Can someone clear this up for me

Yep if the car was fitted with them as standard they will be needed for the MOT. Bit like the rear seat belt thing. The only thing you could do is try to fit some in the mirrors perhaps as seems to be the modern trend on high end cars at the moment.

Tell the MOT tester you use arm signaling when turning so you have no use for side repeaters  :D

I'm afraid you have to have those side repeaters as the car first came with them but as other's have said you should be able to move them to the wing mirror's as techincially then you still have them.

IIRC - and our resident MOT tester Paul C will confirm - any car registered after 1986 must have indicators visible from the side of the car; ie side repeaters.

Hence all cars from C reg onward have some form of side repeater in factory spec.....

Richard

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

but surly there is no min size etc? i e you could just have one bright amber led on the end of your mirror etc. Wouldn't be hard to drill the mirror and fit an led flush to the casing etc.

oooohhh??? Someone's Touchy?? I am sure if he wants to ignore my Joking comments then thats up to him? It's not down to you Eileen to instruct him or anyone?

You can get away with the 99' front and no repeaters as you can see the indicators from the side(so I was told!)-sure there is an angle of view but Paul would know what it is! :D

if you can see the front indicators from the side of the car you do not need side repeaters but im not sure of what angle it is tbh !

Didn't I just say that? :headvswal :D
