I think standard zeds look dated.I've tried to make mine look a bit more modern but it's horse's for courses.I've still got a few bits to do to her though, trim, lights but i'm getting there. :D

thats the bumper i wanted looks sweeeeet mate

Some add-ons are nice. If I had something like a silver Z, then I'd be doing something like Stillen side skirts and front valance. Kaminari rear. You run the risk of ruining a beautiful car if you go too far and there are some right horrors driving about.

£100 off ebay.Apparently it was a pig to fit.I think it's called a shogun ??

£100 but double on labour.I bought some side skirts from luke at zed centre which were twice the price of ebay ones but they fit straight on with no fannying about. The ebay ones are cheap but need alot of preping.

I honestly dont think the ZED looks too out of date for a car its age, it can still hold its own against a moden car, how many cars that age still turn heads even in stock form? Yes its one of the best looking cars ever built even by todays standards, so why ruin perfection? I agree with Si sometimes less is more, moding your car is fine to a degree to add your own personal touch to your car in a subtle way. Your never going to bring it right up to date and why would you want to its a classic, up to date is the job of the 350z which is in my opinion not in the same league

im easy, kitted ones are lovely, but MINT standard ones?

its up to the owner really, its your car!

Stock zeds do look dated, a subtle kit brings it bang up to date

Hear, hear.I think i've tried to update without losing the classic lines.End of the day it's a 18 year old design.I bought it because of it's value/fun as you will struggle to find something this fast for the money, fact!

agree , with both sides of these comments , the zed is a fantastic looking car , and does turn heads , is that because of its rarity now ? or because it still is a great looking piece of automotive design ? yes some kits DONE WELL . and not skimped on do look very good , others look horid and belong only on civics and fiestas owned by spotty bling bling twats that try to be black american gangsta's even though they are whiter than a snow storm , have as much muscle as pencil and were born in chigwell ....but it is HORSES FOR COURSES ..and nobody should judge another persons interpretation of how a zed should look with their own , its all down to individuality and freedon of choice ,thats what makes this forum such a good one .

Huh?? I dont understand how you guys can say that that the ZX looks dated?? As we take a look at my stock form Z its nothing short of awesome looking. I think its all about the stance of the car and the way it looks on the road. Again looking at these pics to me it doesnt look to updated. Maybe its just me though.

Definitely! Very little needs to be done to them. This is afterall why we bought them, because they look the way they do. This is one of the reasons that I'm very much into the U.S Z scene.

That black one needs not a single thing doing to it.

Totally agree with the stance etc. A nice set of wheels and a good suspension setup with correct camber on the wheels does a perfect job of bringing it a bit more inline with modern cars. Get the stance right and it looks a million dollars.

Thats a great looking car...although ofcourse it has been modified.... Lowered, Big wheels, 99spec rear lights, exhausts which all makes a big difference to its looks.... plus its a shortie which IMO is better looking that the more common 2+2 anyway.

A nice clean looking stock 300zx looks great (except for the stock orange indicators on side and rear) and even better with 99spec and other subtle changes.

Some kits look great...some completly ruin the car. I love widearch kits though.

Yes it does! A new aerial!

Sorry, perfect zed though, nice

i never said it looks dated, i think the zed looks gorgeous in stock form apart from the stock rear spoiler, the little mods i have done so far are for my own personal taste rather than to try and bring it up to date, id buy a 350z if i wanted an up to date car and i dont think the 350 is as good looking as the 300

I like the stock spoiler. One of the few guys in the UK Z scene that does....which is kinda why I like the US Z scene. They tend to prefer keeping the cars as nature intended with a few minor tweeks. :)

i never liked wide arse zeds in pics, then i seen paul'gs car and it loked awesome

always wanted a wide arch kit after that, so i got one

Amen to that Si

You only have to look how badly the Mk4 Supra and (sometimes) the 3000GT have aged to see what a great design the 300zx is.

It is a true testament to its design that a car conceived 18 years ago has still got "it" in the 21st century. On the one hand you have the slight late 80s/early 90s brash supercar styling, yet on the other a clean classic wedge shape that emits a certain timeless appeal.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

So do I actually......... ;)

I have thought about going smooth or 99 spec, and I have to admit 99 spec is probably the best looking, but I still think the stock spoiler suits the lines of the car so decided to leave it alone :D
