There's very few aftermarket front bumpers that I like. I can't afford an IMPUL front bumper...even if I could get hold one one...etc

99-spec is nice, but unsure of the large apperture. I find the lines of the older bumper a bit more inkeeping with the time...if that makes sense. So almost ruled out that option.

So I'm considering either the Stillen type 3 bumper extension, but with a modification to it so it doesn't sit flush with the top edge of the swage line as you'll loose the pin stripe.

Either that or considering the Aeromaster front bumper extension. Just wondering people's thoughts on this.

Yeah that would be nice, cheers Dave. Oh, BTW, did you ask PJ about those bits?

Yeh. Still on car, will get him to contact you

All sound like the slippery slope into body kit heaven.

Wide arches and curely werly Veilside side skirts next

IMO the Still extension is the best.

Absolutely not! LOL. If I did, I'd get the skirts and the front bumper extension. But very very subtle stuff. Still unsure...find that the standard front bumper needs a little something on the bottom of it. If I can make it look OE, then it'll be done.

Stillen side skirts are my favourites don't know why I ever put the Wings Weat ones on. By the way previous post should have said Stillen not still :headvswal

Here we go.

I'm even considering getting the middle bit sprayed black again rather than bodycolour.

As I've said, the lip covers the swage line/pin stripe and that's what I'm keen to avoid as it's not uniform all the way round.

then you would need to smoked indicators... i think itll still look good, if not better with it all painted as yours is now. i do agree that the 1 in them pics looks the nuts, but it doesnt have a number plate on it to break up the design.

id say, buy the lip, get it painted and installed, then if you still feel painting the infill black is the way to go then do it at a later date?

What do I do with the lack of swage line on the sides and rear though, this is my only quarm with going for this one over the Aeromaster.

Fill them in and get rid of them

Really an unsympathetic detail which does nothing for the Zed other than say this is an eighties car.

Sorry, I totally disagree. I've seen them smoothed in, and unless on a widearch, it doesn't look good at all. Gives the car a flabby appearance. The swage line kicks up the rear too and is actually quite a flattering detail and is something I certainly will NEVER get rid of. Besides, why would I want to put filler all over my car?

As for the 'makes it look like an 80s' car...well, hate to say this, but it is an 80s car.

I know that and knew you would have that opinion, but apart from the swage lines it looks more mid 90's. I even hate the upper swage lines on the bumper. You know the one that looks like a beed going rounf the front. Why did they do that.

I'm afraid I think simplicity of design and a pragmatic approach to function always out lasts time and all those lines are too fussy.

Sorry Si, I normally agree with your thoughts on body styling but I think you are wrong this time.

There are so many better looking front bumpers out there than the above. I am shocked you don't want to go for the 99spec front.

Personally I really like my front end. but the Greddy gracer is nice too...

Not keen on most due to their lack of uniformity with the rest of the car.

Mmmmmm, not especially. It's the central aperture that's too big. If it lined up with the bottom of the fog lights, it would look neater. The cutout is too big and reminds me, strangely of a cyber man.
