HI ;more questions on Turbos.. Hybrid T25/T28 Turbos :Are they any good to replace standard Garrets on a Z32 manual? Are they able to be fitted straight on? Would these Hybrids be better in any way to standard auto turbos?

Are you looking at any in particular mate ? are they a mixture of t25 and t28 parts or are you asking in general about t25's and t28's ;) the latter being a 5 bolt turbo which require 5 bolt turbo pipes. My own are a mixture of both..

well ive seen some on ebay and the are t25 hybrids with some of the t28 internals. i,m needin a pair for mine too

Yes the ones on ebay is what redzed is talking about, so are a mixture

Sound a good price at the mo

looking at some PE 1420 from the states ,if funds will allow , ( will give you call when i get back to the uk Smithy ) work out about 1700 quid delivered with the current exchange rate ....

hybrids are a mix! - hence hybrid LOL!

it would use a T25 turbine coupled to a T28 compressor, gives quicker spoolup than a T28 & more flow than a T25!

Gradually i'm getting there....Thanks for the imput guys..So;Hybrid T25/t28 should bolt straight in?

Not that he needs any recommendation but I've got Smithys hybrids on mine and they have been fantastic. Spool up much quicker than my old stocks.

I saw the hybrids on ebay but i thought they were cheap copy's as they had no manufacturers stamps on them.

Assuming they are clocked to suit the Zed, come with any adapters etc then yes.

Glenns were Z32 designed/specific in that they were a straight bolt on, came with what ever required ( except dump pipes) and the design was for each turbo to spool up a 1500cc quickly and powerfully.

Assume your looking at the ones posted here

If you want a good T25/T28 hybrid, get 2x Garrett GT2560R (aka GT28R), which is a ballbearing T25/T28 hybrid factory made by Garrett using GT-technology wheels.

You can get these fairly cheap and are *semi* bolt on to a Zed, meaning it takes some work to make them fit, but it's very possible
