Saw the footage on Sky News at lunchtime. Really horrific!

I couldn't believe the state the recovery vehicle was in.

It's a miracle they managed to get one survivor out.

Very sad indeed.

It said on the news that the HGV driver said he was moving at the time but how the hell can the recovery truck have hit it so hard if they were both rolling?

Recovery trucks only do about 50 or 60 don't they?

Sounds like the HGV had stopped to me...

from the look of that it appears the recovery truck hit the lorry at full speed. driver probably took his eyes of the road for a second and boom.

Bit that makes me laugh (not at teh poor people that died) is the reporters going on about lack of safety and seat belts being an issue, an enquirey etc.

Do they realy think for 1 second that having you seat belts on or off in that wreck would make 1 iota of differnce.

fools.

i agree, the report says that the tow truck was correctly equipped to carry 6 people. just goes to show that accidents will always happen, no matter how much health & safety meddle with our everyday lives.

again, my thoughts go out to the families of those who were lost in the crash :(

Hi,

That company, Dunchurch Motors ,from near Rugby, recovered my 300ZX a few years back when I broke down on the way to Billing Aquadrome.

The driver had already been up to Yorkshire and back, before he picked me up at nearly midnight near Northampton!
