does 'lower' gearing mean higher top end and slower acceleration or is it the other way round?

Faster acceleration and lower top speed :cool:

Leader gears do not increase power to the wheels, but concentrate the power so that it decreases the final top end speed but increases the speed at which you get to it.

It's like selecting a smaller gear on your bike, enablening you to build up speed quicker but restricting your top end slightly.

I love the 4.1 gear ratio, in my opinion it transforms the car from a grand tourer to a sports car!

Mark how would top end (speed) compare Manual gearbox to Auto? as i know the Auto can theoretically obtain a higher speed:)

theoretical speed at 7000rpm with std wheel tyre with leader gears ring/pinion fitted

Auto = 180.63 mph

manual = 182.46

This is with 4.08??

I have looked at this but its the special tools/items for setting the pinion hight that i dont have. Still trying to figure how to get round the items needed that the manual recomends.

Are you talking about the dial gauges?

Its the dummy shaft, bearing spacer, side bearing adaptor and the adapter shaft page PD-21 in the manual.
