Thinking about upgrading the brakes. Does anyone have 3g brake discs on their z ?

If so how much is the braking performance improved?

See Macca's motor for brakes upgrade. I think it's fair to say he has that well sorted.

Do a search loads more links if you need more info.

The best bet is to go for the Brembo R33 kit.I have not done a better brake upgrade than this. Had mine on for about 7 months now and its amazing. The 3 g brakes wont improve your stopping power but are just very good OEM replacments.

OK OK OK......

I've had the R33 brakes on my car now for a year - fair enough it has been off the road a fair while since christmas but thats another story.....

THIS IS THE BEST MODIFICATION YOU CAN DO TO A ZED!!!! Nuff said!

The problem is obtaining disks for the R33 calipers but I am looking into getting this sorted.... The calipers are freely available so once I have more details I'll keep everyone posted....

The problem with the R34 brakes is that a little modification is required to make them fit 320mm discs....

.......and b4 anyone says the 3g and green muff pads give you increased stopping power, has anyone done a back to back test with NEW stock discs and pads against NEW 3g and green muff pads???? They are bound to feel better with newer discs.....

CheerZ,

Andy

I've bought front & rear 10 GR's slotted NOT 20's, I'll let you know how they are, I picked these because hopefully there will be less pad wear, and a little cheaper

good luck

Cheers for the info dudes.

Will the R33 kit go on with stock wheels or do you need to go the whole hog and get a lovely set of 18" split rims to match?
