Ive just failed the MOT on 48 seperate counts.Every light on the car seems to not work all of a sudden, but I seem to get to work

But the flipping car failed the emitions without a single puff of smoke at any time :cry:

 

Its saided through every year except teh flipping emitions which where due to faulty PCV, which I replaced last year.

My car never gets checked for Emissions as its a 1990 import and it's not required .. according to the guy who does MOT...

my car passes everytime, the guy just sends the mot through the post, seriousely though 48 counts, think he is being a bit of a jobsworth, or doesnt know his job

Go elsewhere and see what happens.

48 items ffs, sounds like a death trap but looks like a nice motor, hope theres nothing too serious and you get it sorted ok

Mine was checked the last 3 MOT's the emissions were 0.91. :bow:

an emissions check is to test the quality of the catalytic convertors so if you havent got them fitted they cant do the test

An emissions test is to test the emissions coming out the exhaust nothing to do with the quality of the cat. no matter whether the cats been removed the test has still to be done. if your car was registered before Aug 1992 its tested to lower limits and its possible it may still pass even with the cat removed, after this date the emission limits tighten up and you will struggle without a cat.

 

There exceptions to the above but in general those are the regulations that apply to the Z

thats harsh mate I thought your Z was a minter. surely it cant be anywhere near that bad - see what someone else says. what did it fail on?

That's got to be some sort of record there. My advice would be the same as others: just try taking it somewhere else. I'm guessing it'll still probably fail on something but maybe you'll only have one or two things to fix. Doesn't sound to me much like ALL the lights could suddenly have failed, unless all the fuses have randomly blown or something daft like that.

OK It failed all emitions (but I think the fella may of had it set wrong)

Lights basicaly seem to all developed stupid faults

Mains out of align

Foglamps apparently faulty, but I checked and they came on so I need to ask what he meant by faulty

Sidelams have fallen out and are dangling down the inner wing

Rear fogs have done the same thing

Fog indicator dont come on

Hazzard switch fell off and warning light did not come on

Reverse light apparently dont work, but i checked and they do

 

Have you noticed that not one thing on here is serious except the emitions, and thats prob becaus ethe car was not taken for a drive to warm it up 1st

Sounds like they are trying to con you for work that does not need doing mate, i cant see all them lamps falling out there holders at the same time. but they all have easy access to quickly undo them to make them look so.
