My guess is younger generations earn mone money now, with the national minium wage and all the credit they are offered now-a-days late teens can afford things more easily.

I'm 30 and when I was on a YTS (which I quit, lol) I earned £29.50 a week. I had to save for a going out shirt :wack:

when i was in my 20's the z32 was brand new and 30 odd grand, way way out of my price range. But now its an affordable car for the younger people hence why younger drivers have them now, and me lol

i dont know so much about them being able to actually afford the car...

im 24 work full time and struggle sometimes to do the mods and things i'd like to do to the car... i'm sure 80% of the younger members have the likes of mommy and daddy.... most of them still probs live at home, dont pay rent or mortgages... etc

its not like the old days where when you were 18 - you were out of the house, fending for yourself.... the youngsters these days have mommy and daddy to help! (most of the time anyway) (and im talking the 18 - 24/25 yeard olds)

not me i work my ass off. rent a flat and decided that mortgage prices were waay beyond my price range so decided to get myself a sports car while i could still enjoy it in my youth.

sometimes its a struggle but i don't winge about it cos i expected it.

all these people who by a big performance car and then say" i didn't think it would be this bad on fuel" or breaking my z because i can't afford to fix the ....... should have really looked into it before buying one!

my five opinions .....

study, buy, enjoy, dont winge and maintain.

well im 24 and have had to take the z off the road for a short while as i can't afford to run it at the moment After moving to London. Would obveously be better off with a more sensible car but heart always wins over sence !!!!!

i'm about to get a mortgage again but im fooked if im going to get rid of the car too many times in the past i've had to sacrifice my beloved belongings, not this time i make sure i can afford it something less important will have to go, like eating

I'm 24... I've got a Mortgage, AND a 300zx... and work my balls off for the privilege!

The 300zx was a supercar to look up to when I was much younger, now it's an achievable dream - that's probably why there are so many younger owners.

I'm 32, have a good job which I took a 12K pay cut for so as to be closer to home. Wanted a Zed since I was 15.... Finally got one, and even now it's still difficult to get all the mods done to it that I want...have a mortgage, a 5 month old kiddy and an expensive wife....one of them will have to go to pay for the Zed.... :) :)

I got my first Zed when I was 25 - 13 years ago! That was when they were worth proper money

I'm 27 with a wife and mortgage. I haven't got in to the modding thing so only have to pay for the fuel i use. Its an NA and hasn't had any problems since i got it and i only use it on sunny days like the last week or so. For the rest of the year i use a second car.

If I had kids then maybe it'd be a different story, but now i've got the car that i wanted, i won't be giving it up easily. If I couldn't afford to run/maintain it, i'd put it in storage.

i got my licence when i was 16...

IMO i think Zeds are more 'a younger lads cars' ... (yes i said lads)

older men need to look the part in flash jaguars, land rovers etc... not fast sporty energetic cars! :)

as a girl... 2 zeds drive past, one with a young bloke and one with an older bloke.... i know who i'd flash!

OI OI DONT KICK OFF.... Ive got nothing against the older generation - after all you are alot wiser and probably 99% more sensible!! :duffer: :duffer: xxx

Well that's obvious isn't it! LOL... if I saw some haggard 50 year old bint and a nice young pert 17 year old driving down the road, I know who I'd wave my cock at!

the 50 yr old??

i'm a 25 yr old 'mature' student and the only way i can run my zed is by not running it. i'm in leeds and my car is in cambridge. got plenty of things i WANT to do on it but i make myself only pay for the things that NEED doing. my brother is a mechanic too so that saves me labour costs. i guess that if you want something badly enough, you find a way of paying for it. i just have to work really hard on not buying stuff i don't need.

I knew I should have written some sort of disclaimer in my previous post.

If I didn't have a mortgage I could have any car I wanted.
