just been told by a ninga 6r owner, that theres a 750bhp silver z that almost smoked him......until he stopped to ask what the feck is under the hood!!

 

he said cwmbran but i dont think so!! theres only 2 down here mine and a silver g reg uk z :bow:

Very much doubt it, but then you would only need about half that power to actually beat a Ninja 6r

I thought the only thing out of Cwmbran was Knauf Insulation - and I dont think an Eddie Stobart truck can do 750bhp - wish they bloody could would, would make my life a lot easier when trying to get the deliveries there on time - I should know I planned the work out of Cwmbran for 18 months for Eddie Stobart/Knauf :tongue:

I dont know about a 750 BHP. I think it would have beat the 6R from the start I had a race with a 6R and he led until I hit about 100 MPH and then I left him behind.

oh dear oh dear ..have we all been eating dreamy soup or something ?? i have a ninja zxr600 and a 1992 300 zxTT stage 2 and it would whup my TT zed any day up to about 140 when wind drag kicks in and teh zed would pull ahead .......must have been a pussy or BAB ( born again biker ) riding the one you were up against ...... :)

I dont know how the ninja 600 compares to a Yamaha R6 been a long time since I was into bikes.......but I had a race with an R6 owner when my TT was on stock boost....from 50mph upwards...he initially jumped a car lengths ahead then we were equal and from 80 I was passing him and at 100mph+ he was rapidly dissapearing in my mirrors....we were both suprised....so ran it again....same results. He was giving it everything, fully tucked in, full revs..etc

 

Below 50mph I would'nt of stood a chance.

That sounds about right mate. I aint exagerating about my encounter. I have had bikes for many a year now. Before I ever had a car. I know a decent rider when I see one and he was going for it too. My ol' lady wasnt impressed niether :) But when we pulled up to a round a bout he nodded at me (IN DEFEAT). my little 650 bandit would beat my 300zx to about 80 (ish) but after that its by by bike. A few years ago I had a full power V Max. that got to about 125 MPH and started to want to throw me up the road. Now that would have beaten my zed all the way. That was an awsum fooking machine. It got nicked. :cry:

i raced an r6 from about 40 to 120 - totally left it

 

looked down and boost controller had logged max of 17psi

 

now i have no compression :(

 

I got a nod from him as well after i slowed to about 70

A few years ago I had a full power V Max. that got to about 125 MPH and started to want to throw me up the road. Now that would have beaten my zed all the way. That was an awsum fooking machine. It got nicked. :cry:

i have to agree with steve. r6"s or most 600"s up can get to 140 very quickly indeed and theres not many cars that can touch them on a straight road. above 140 the wind factor kicks in and bottle to. on twistys thats a different story, the bike would lose hands down unless the biker was a total loon. had a go against a GT3 PORSCHE on the a131 in chelmsford to stansted and if anyone knows the road theyll know its a long straight flat road. awesome. p*ssed all over the gt3............

i have to go with the bikes on this one im afraid guys a std zx6 does 0-130 in around 10.5 secs and im sorry but there aint many zeds that would match that i know mine wouldnt.

i just sold my zxr750 and i would say that is around the same performance as a modern 600 and i raced an 03 m5 from around 30 to about 150 up hill and left him for dead

but i dont care anyway as i love my bikes and my cars all the same

bikes vs zeds?

you gotta take the zed? right?

think i have to side with my bike aswell!

i have ducati modded 748 and well modded tt and think bike would win hands down!

if you work out bhp per tonne for example!

 

my bike rolling roaded at 115 bhp for 250kg bike = 460 bhp per tonne

my car approx 450 at 1750kg - 260 bhp per tonne!

except when you add weight of rider it becomes 330 bhp /tonne versus 270 bhp/tonne for 450hp zed with driver (TT LWB = 1550kg)

 

Still in favour of the bike, which is why it will leave a zed standing at low speeds.....but gearing, wind resistance and the fact that power is far more important than weight at speed means roles reverse as the numbers climb.

is that what a 748 weighs that seems a little heavy as the r1 tips the scales at 177kg

I STILL own and run a Vmax.... No dreamer or wannabe. My Max WILL take the zed from 0-60... Max UNDER 4 secs. 1/4 mile in UNDER 11 secs. But, when it comes to rolling power, The zed will cream the Max. From 60 on wind resistance verses power becomes the major factor and the zed has MUCH less resistance than almost any bike. Both have thier merrits and My Max will take ANY zed here away from the lights (in a straight line, dry road) But given most roads are Not straight, Dry and free from idiots.. My zed gets me to and from the offie quicker!

well i got my r1 and all i can say is that it would destroy a z from 60 to a 160 it is so quick compared to my z it wheelies in third off the clutch wheelies in first and second off the power i love it

but i also love my z :hyper:
