 I met a young fella last night at my works depot. He has a nice Black TT import with very nice Chrome rims and it has "VA" badges on it (Dont know what this "VA" means?) I asked him if he is a member on here and he told me he just bought the car today (thats yesterday now). Anyway I told him he should pay a visit.

What amazes me when I think about it is the ammount of Z owners I have come across that havent heard of this site or have but just dont bother. There are still a great deal of 300ZX's around but you rarley see one ??? I think its just one of lifes little mysteries? ;)

I have seen 6 or 7 in bedford alone over the last year. Spoke to 4 of them and they had not heard of the site. I have seen a fair few around london too and up the M6 / M1. But I do around 70-80,000 miles a year at least so i am out there a bit.

Viniboy when I lived in Bedford I never saw your Zed but I did see three others all belonging to my neighbour and mate Sharaz he doesn't have one now but he sold his last one which he had resprayed as he put it 'BMW blue'. He doesn't have internet and never became a member of the site either but everytime I go back to Bedford he ask's me if the guy from up north still has his blue Zed.

So come on guys who brought a 'BMW blue' Zed from an Asian guy in Bedford, the poor lad wants to know if his Zed is still running.

Oh yer, the last time I was in Bedford in my Zed, I was followed from Biddenham by a nice looking red Zed but it weren't you.

I also used to see Ajay's Zed a lot while I lived there. :D

I do know what you mean. I'm totally the opposite, I'll register with a website/club long before I look at buying the car I'm interested in.

It's no good buying classic/sports car magazines etc with features on them, this is where the information is really at...the owners!

An internet club requires a particular type of person, which isnt the majority. I'd say only 15-20% of owners, if that, are here.

Well given that we have (or have had) almost 1000 subscribed members then I'd reckon we'd captured more than 20%. Gio was trying to get some figures from the DVLA detailing how many Z32s there are in the country but I don't think he got a good answer in the end.

I must admit any car I would buy in the future would have to have a good website to back it up, the money and hassle you save is amazing, can you imagine the costs of looking after the z32 using a nissan main dealer!

Yep, I've met a lot who have never used or heard of this site.....which is understandable if perhaps there not on the Internet....however many will go on to tell you how they bought this from ebay, that from some .com shop..etc

...then again, I have also met quite a few who do know the site, but deliberatly dont come on here because of previous bad experiences :(

i registered with the site early 03 when i first started looking, i didnt really use it much and dont believe i made even 1 post! after well over a year of searching i finally settled for the one i have now (which is prolly goin on saturday :(). i owned my zed for a good 6 months or so before i re-discovered this forum but i lost my old registration details so i had to re-register and then i subscribed. its not just the wealth of knowledge and the spares availability that is valuable on this site, most of the time i log in to have a good natter with all the good community minded people on here :)

I went to buy some leather seats advertised on ebay from a bloke in leeds, him and his mate have been modding zeds for a few years, neither of them heard of this site!

He was gobsmacked when i showed him on his pc!

I understand that not everyone has the internet and was just saying that it amazes me how many 300's are out there in addition to everyone on here that has one. You (thats the royal you ;) ) imagine that you are sort of exclusive in the fact that we all have this one main thing in common...... The 300zx. and as time goes by you find that you aint so exclusive after all? I always let people know about the site and how much I have benefitted from being a member.

And then there's the ones that only come on here when they have a problem with the car, get the advice they want and are never seen again

When I got the zed there were so many people who told me things like "ooh you'll struggle to get parts for it/get it serviced/troubleshoot it". But everytime I'd just explain that I was a member of this really good site that could help sort pretty much any problem I get. The internet is a valuable tool in putting me in touch with the great specialist traders on here and without it I would have been stuck many a time.

I shook hands on the deal and was due to go and pick my 300 up the next week. It was being serviced and the Belt was being renewed. During that week I did some research and found this site. I joined up and the week after I got the car I paid up. I cant understand anyone who ventures into something that dont at least look up about the car they are buying or have bought. Ok some dont have the net but most know someone that has?

Must admite I already knew about the site due to Ajay. So when I finnally thought right I'm going to get that Zed I'd always promised myself I joined up. Then got my Zed best thing I did as well because it helped me find just the right Zed :D

Also made lots of lovely new friends :D

completly agree that was why i joined here best advice and suggestions comes from owners

A little idea for recruiting members might be, when there is a free listings week on ebay, is to stick an advert up for members for the club, Might be a good way to up the profile?

Cheers bud, or another one may be, to get one of those adverts to appear on the side of google whenever someone does a search for 300zx, but to be truthful I do not know how much this would cost so would need analysis from the committee?

Good idea and to take it to another level although a bit obvious. Stick under the nissan only section as we dont want to fill the place with idiots that just take the piss. :D
