the tvr is a nice brand but to me they have this "kit car" feel about em :nelson:

I thought that as well - I looked at a Cerbera last year and considering it is supposed to be a bit more of a GT car than previous TVRs the fit and finish left a lot to be desired.......

Richard ;)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

As your fed up with the Zed becuase of the issues yours has had then I would say :

The Bmw and the TVR will cost a LOT more than your zed to run and maintain.

The S14a is cheap as chips to own, although not really in same league as your other options.

NSX the most expensive to buy, and the rarest. No real reliablity issues, although part prices expensive.

NSX!! they are just toooo cool

just make sure its a popup light version with the 3.2 engine, which is from abour 1997 iirc.

NSX is silly money really but always liked them, out of my price range though. I'm thinking 10k max

chaemera or griffith would be nice but cerbera is more of a comfortable brutal cruiser like the zed :D

I wouldn't go for the TVR for quality/reliability issues.

I like the BM but I'd be afraid it could dish out some heafty running costs.

I'd have a S14a but I'd get a one with a decent wide arch kit + top wheels already fitted.

My choice would be the NSX - but they hold their monsy so they aren't cheap - autos seem to be a lot cheaper than manuals but I guess there's a rewson for that.

If I had the £20k for an NSX I'd think about a Merc CL500 or a Maserati 3200 G. Mind you they're not cheap to run either.

For £10K I'd get an Integra DC5. Of maybe a stunning S14a.

Saw that s14 though sxoc, it's pretty but i'd have to have the 14a facelift in black in stock form. They're goegeous :D

Hmmm maserati 3200 now there's an idea, i think they're stunning especially the older shape with the strip lights on the back.....

I agree they are gorgeous.............but...........

even the Maserati dealer I spoke to said they won't touch them with a barge pole!

That sort of put me off a bit LOL.

if you are stretching your price range to the limit, i wouldnt bother... if you still like zeds buy 'the rat'. you will have a pocket full of change to personalise it and i would put money on it that the rat would cost you alot less in the long run than any of the cars you have listed other than maybe the s14a (which as nice as they are, they dont quite have the same 'road presence' as the zed imo).

bmw currently charge 120quid an hour labour... paul@swz will take you engine out, change your tubs and put the engine back in for 500bucks!

if u get a tvr u are a glutton for punishment.

it seems the nsx is out of your price range and even if you do stretch to it youll b looking at an early g reg with high miles (then wait till that needs some work!)

for me it seems your only realistic option is the s14a, but even then you are going to want to tune/modify it so why not just get a nice good example zed and enjoy what you know you like in a community that you are so well established in :)

all imo ofc

NSX or Beemer would get my vote. NSX as it's a modern classic, bonkers, looks stunning from ANY angle and has the HONDA/ACURA build quality that you just don't get from pretty much any other manufacturer.

Beemer, looks stunning, handles not so stunning, straight line speed..bonkers.... build quality...it's a beemer...nuff said....

But be warned if something goes wrong with the beemers engine...expect to sell the kids and the missus' a55 to pay for the thing.

TVR...will break

S14...if you're into drifting in a big way.

The beemer and the zed seem the best options so far. Good value hypercoupe for little money but if i were buying a zed it would have to be manual and uk

The Rat is a great car, i've followed its progress the last year or so and i'd snap it up like that if i had 3k but at the moment i have a grand in the bank including my overdraft which is probably going on this civic this weekend, if not it'll go on peach's omega if it's still there when i get the money while i work out what to do with the zed.

If i get this job in ashby and i'm making a fair bit of wonger then i might keep the zed, wait till i get a house with a garage then just strip the zed to the floor and rebuild it up to my spec but there's no point rushing things till i know where i stand.

At least a smaller second car lets me save a bit of money in the meantime
