As most of you will know, for the past couple of years, JAE has been held at the East of England showground near Peterborough. Before that, it was held at Billing Aquadrome.

 

Many members said that they enjoyed the atmosphere and facilities at Billing far more than at Peterborough. After considering the feedback from our members, the Club has decided to hold it's main annual event and AGM at Billing this year. This event will still be a full weekend (Saturday & Sunday) and members will be able to camp from the Friday afternoon. The dates for the event is Friday 13th July ~ Sunday 15th July.

 

Another major factor for the switch is to join the Z Club in celebrating their 30th Birthday as a club. All Zed clubs have been invited to join them in celebrating the event and we feel it will be the perfect occasion to hold our annual event and AGM in a more family orientated environment. As you know JAE at Peterborough will encompass all Japanese cars, whereas Billing will be dedicated to Nissan Z sports cars.

 

The Club is committed to ensuring that this years event will be the biggest and best yet. As well as the usual club marquee, food and drink, there will be additional attractions and details of these will be posted in the National Events forum in the near future.

The Club will also be holding the AGM and awarding the trophies at this event.

 

The Club is committed to continuous improvement and therefore we will be asking for your feedback on the event in the Autumn. We will make a decision at that time, about the 2008 event location. If we get poor feedback after Billing, we will consider a switch back to Peterborough the following year.

 

We acknowledge that some members will have already made arrangements for JAE and we apologise for any inconvenience. However, we feel we have made the switch for the right reasons.

 

The Club will still have a plot at JAE this year, although it will be on a smaller scale than the past two years, with no marquee etc. which is in line with the Z Club approach last year.

 

If members intend to be present at both events, that’s fine. - all you have to do is add your name to both lists.

 

We would encourage all members who are choosing to attend one event, to support the club and attend the Billing event with the Z Club, as this event is now our official 2007 Summer event.

 

Please take the time to add you name to the appropriate list and let us know when you intend to arrive, ie. Fri ~ Sun, Sat only etc.

Can I ask in the nicest possible, non rock the boat way, what´s better about Billing?

 

I just wonder if some influential people remember 'old times' there that were more to do with the state of the club at the time than anything else?

 

That said,I´ve got no reason to push for Peterborough (except it's more convenient for me :x:) I hope to go to both.

No any one can come into Billing and do anything they want up to a point

WE have two fields booked for our own use and maybe the Z Club might ask two rather large gentlemen from on here to act as doormen

 

If other people want to have some sort of show/ meet at billing that is up to them but what is p155ing us off is that some want to use the Z?ZXs to promote thier thing

Well its your shout Steve. All my personal concerns are that if its going to be a free for all then we might as well have kept the JAE as the 300ZX annual meeting as a few members seem quite put out that it has been moved. Myself, I think that billing will make a change as I have never been there before.The fact that this thread might go on and on is the normal on this site as you know. It just seems that everytime you get something good going the Chavs turn up and spoil it. I spose all we can do is sit back and hope the Suzy and Eileen get the message across? :) all IMO. (of course) :cool:

I don't think it is a case of being better but just a different sort of thing.

 

You cannot fault JAE as being one of the biggest Japanese car shows in the country and I hope we will all being going for many years to come.

 

The Z Club just wanted to have a weekend of just Zeds and to celebrate being a club for 30 years. It is just a real shame that the only weekend we could book at Billing was the weekend before JAE (this will not be repeated next year!)

just as another aside, i bought another jap car last week, and just now i was checking out the owners site of this car, and listed on their home page for national events is Billing 15 july, which says they have been invited to by the z club, it doesnt concern me who else is there as im only really interested in our own club, just curious really

AFAIK the only clubs invited are zed related clubs (Z Club, 350Z club, 300zx.co.uk)

Answer to your question is Yes, this event IS 300zx.co.uk's major summer event this year. We will still be at JAE but on a much smaller scale.

Right boys and girls start getting your names down for the biggest zed event ever to grace this good land of ours,zed cars from all models stretching back over 30 years,our club and the z club are joining forces on all major events from now on in the near future from which i hope you will all agree is a step in the right direction,also at this event you will see our shop in action where you will be able to buy many items which are zed related,

remember lets make this the new jae but a lot better than what we have come to known in the past.
