Why don't my blowers work?

When I put the heating on auto and econ and set the temperature to around 30-40 the car heats up but it all seems to be coming from the vent at the front below the windscreen. If I change it to the windscreen heater option on the control panel I hear a little change in "blower sound" and still comes out the same vent as it should.

None of the other vents seem to blow any hot/cold air. The car warms up quite quickly though still.

Any ideas?

I've got a similar prob actually mate. When i press the de-mister button, i still get air from the center blower on the dash, none from the windscreen one, and none from the side ones! Same on auto. Someone told me there are actuators that are supposed to open flaps to the seperate vents, that may be seized, but its a dash-out job to fix them. Any help on this one welcome, sorry i cant be of anymore help...

Nissan made a shit system i'm afraid. The car will blow hot air wherever it wants, nothing you can do about it. :wack:

First post, thats the normal operation of the car - the aircon ecu works out the quickest way to achieve the set temperature...

Second post, certainly sounds like a mode door problem, get it checked out with a consult...

LOL its not shit its actually clever - heats the car up as quickly as possible without blowing all the hair off your head ;)

its still bloody annoying! (and what happened to the swear filter! :x: :wack: )

LOL apparently shit and twat aren't swear words :wack:

get a series ll onwards much better setup thats why they changed it from late 92- ;)

More than likely they changed it due to owners constantly bringing their new cars in saying the aircon was faulty when it was actually working 100% ok  :D

fuck is tho

See, SIZE is everything ;)

LOL @ andy your probably right, but i think it was more the fact the owner complained how shit it is -)

To be fair I never had a problem with it. The whole idea of the heater is to heat the cabin up and thats exactly what it does, and very well too! Put it this way, when you turn the heating on in your house it doesn't re-style your hair for you at the same time does it

Fair comments. Nice to know its working as it should then and there isn't a problem with the blowers.

well i personally think its a crock of shit. something a child would decide to do. How many modern cars currently have a system like it. In fact how many cars have you ever been in that has just a bloody awful system
