6 Days after I got my zed in january somebody hit the car and dented the rear quarter while it was parked at my dads work (was visiting him). The repair is about 900 + vat.

Here is the snag though the other persons insurance company want to write it off, beacuse the car is a 1990 and they think it isn't worth it.

any advice on what I should do next as I don't particularly want them to write it off unless they are going to give me market value for it and since I just looked on autotrader and on here a tidy JDM TT manual seems to be about £4K.

Thanks in advance

Tell them you want it fixed. You don't have to accept what they suggest. The car belongs to you not them.

As above.

Tell them "you don't care what they want. Their client has damaged your treasured car and you want it fixing and their valuation of the car is irellevant as it is worth more to you". Then find loads of adds for 1990 cars that want 6, 7 or even 10K for and just say this is how much a good one goes for and if they wish to buy you one off the ones you've found you'll be content otherwise repare your car or mak a offer you'll accept. Don't settle for less than £4500.

Right just had a call from the insurance company saying they are sending an somebody round to look at it, will be busy finding all the decent zed I can find tonight.

insurers usually make the mistake of looking at NA cars for sale yours is a TT...make that point strongly

Good luck mate insurance companies can be a pain in the a**e i know from experience lol.

If its not your fault you can demand the repair of the car. End of...

Stick to you guns mate, dont let the buggers knock you down.

getting a golf tdi to run round in while it is getting fixed, so not bad car to run about in as the wife has one.

Excellent result :hyper: just make sure they do a grand job ;)
