I have a mint 1990 edition of "car" with a 300zx road test in it - got a good review

I wondered whether anyone here owned that exact car. Steve-300zx may be able to tell us from his database.

Hi,

That same 300ZX, G189 TCD was also tested in July 1990 by Fast Lane magazine.

They weren't so complimentary as Autocar and said that the synchromesh on 5th gear was on it's way out, by the time they got hold of the test car.

Fast Lane did always have a bias towards German cars, particularly Porsches though, and they kept comparing it to the 928!

Would be nice to know if that car is still around?

Cheerz,

Jez

lol it has 9 previous owners according to the rac data check!

even so is there any chance its still a nissan press car in the same way they still have a gtr (which as u all know is discontinued for about 5 years). - long shot i know

also does anyone have one of those cool analogue phones? lol

Thanks Jez. I saw that way back in 1990 and remember thinking 'One day I'll own one.' Didn't really think I would though! There was another article in another mag (can't remember which) where a Z was taken to the US to follow the same route as that used by 'Kowalski' in the 1970 cult film 'Vanishing Point.' I must look for that in my loft!

Thats great!! It's nice to see that article in colour ;) I ordered it on reprint from autocar about 6 years ago. Unfortunately they had no magazines in stock so sent me a skanky black and white photocopy lmao.

Many thanks :)
