Just put the zed on stands and it took the best part of an hour in the rain!

At one point the car rolled forward about 2 inches and scared the sh*t out of me! Cracked a 2 ton stand too! Doesnt help that my car space isnt 100% level either! I had already put measures in place to stop the car rolling but they were 2 inches away and the car rolled slightly onto a brick.

Phew its secure now, Just wish it would stop raining so i can start taking the prop off to get rebalenced!

yep i have done exactly that with left over decking boards. I wouldnt get the jack under the car at all otherwise! I invested in a workshop grade 5 ton jack which goes low too! Well worth it.

Blimey mate.. make sure that baby is secure before you get underneath it!! :wack:

Be carefull with breeze blocks - they're not the strongest thing in the world....

My 2 tonne trolley jack broke when jacking up the zed, iol leaking out of it. Mind you I did jack the front end of my tranny van a few weeks before.

How did you manage to crack a 2 ton axel stand with a 1 and a 1/2 ton Zed mate. Was the stand damaged?

I always use a trolley jack and a nice set of 3 ton axel stands, I also use bricks as stops lol

I bought some railway sleepers cut them into 4. Got 2 at £20 each.

Takes a bit of time to get the car up there but well worth it, good job I have a 55cm jack as a 2 tonner wouldnt clear the height.

The car rolled forward about 2 inches onto bricks i used as stops which are on top of the breeze blocks that the front wheel are sat on. The rear of the car was on one stand on one side and big jack on the other side. Car rolled forward, jack rolled with it, stand went to 45 degrees bending the base and cracking the leg of it!

Had to very quickly get the spare trolly jack under the side of the car with the stand under it. I then relised the rear of the car was then on two jacks with casters on! lucky the front was then stopped by the bricks so could roll no further. Wouldnt have gone much further as the second breeze block on each side has a brick under the far end of it to give an upward slope etc.

It wouldnt have gone far but was a brown pants moment! Axle stand will be fixed with hammer and mig as soon as it stops raining!

Nissan built it then relised how heavy it was and then fitted an alloy jack and alloy bonnet . :headvswal

prelude was just a dis-located shoulder, and supra was lucky i was under the front trying to get axle stand under then doing bye bye jack, luckly owner of car was watchin lol, and he was a bit big lol and managed to get supra high enough so i could scrawl out, very bruised but nothing broke, lucky lucky me and i still fitted his clutch after swearing alot lol

Yep, have to agree with duff man. From bitter/scarey experience, breeze blocks / thermalite /aircrete whatever you call them have a nasty habit of crumbling without warning. Excellent vertical compression strength, but the slightest lateral movement (e.g. car settling down) and its brown underpants time. But for a fireproof, well insulated car stand, you can't get better...
