Just got the old girl backon the road. Filled up with Sainsbury super unleaded and went for nice drive. Fine that day so of to work next day to show off the new paint job. All way there everything was fine. After work I decided to clean the car along with the engine. Only squirted the engine with hose but now it seems like it is permanently overfuelling. It runs fine on idle but all the way home I could not put foot right down as it spluttered and had real lack off power but if I back off a little it goes momenterily.

Spent all day yesterday taking all connecters off and cleaning them and spark plugs but no joy.

It is now 2 days later so would have thought if the water got into anything it would have dried off but it still the same. I dont think the petrol problem reached Sainsbury but now am a bit worried.

Any ideas greatfully appreciated.

I had a similar problem with mine last week. There are 4 pipes under the nose cone that had been corked off. One of these had come out slightly and this caused lots of black smoke. It did affect the reading on my boost gauge tho so maybe not. The joys lol!!

well i took the "mines based" chip back out this mornin and put the chip back in that the car came with now it doesnt even start!!! i can hear the fuel pump prime so it must be gettin a spark? one of the end pins on the chip was bent quite badly when i removed it and when i straightened them all back up before i refitted it i noticed a slight split in it but it was still firm so i fitted it could it be to do with this?

I might have a chip you could try if I can find it, but can't look until the weekend.

the car had a boost leak, sorted now, just removed the re-circ and blocked the pipe with a 28mm copper stop end, now only got 3 words to say.....JESUS F***ING CHRIST!!!! cant beleive the difference its made and i was only running 10psi!! cant stop smiling!!! :D :D was going to have a drink tonite but think i will just spend the cash on petrol and crank her up to 1bar then overdose on adrenaline!!!!

Rather an old thread but ref your water problem - I had identical problem with my 200SX when I got water over top of engine and had misfire. Water got down one of the spark plug tunnels and just sits in there under the rubber grommet, instead of boiling off. Took a long time before I found it. Regarding your overfuelling check your Lambda sensors, thats what caused mine. You wouldn't know except on full throttle when it went ballistic. hope that helps.
