Hi The guy who PX'ed my Zed for his Porsche has ripped me off the tax. I got a letter sayin his cheque had bounced when he purchased the tax. have to now buy a fresh tax. They said they sent him letters but he has not responded,. If I drive it now I may be prosecuted as the tax is listed as invalid. Did he e-mail me to tell me this ?? NO!! I hope if he logs on here (of which he is now a member) he has the decency to send me the refund as the tax was not due to run out till end of June 07.

Please guys be carefull..when buying a car..your bloody tax may be illegal..recepits mean nothing if the cheque bounced..I wondered why "he" had not contacted me since he done up the Zed

caz -(

crap sorry to hear that hon, hope you get it sorted soon xxx

Yeah..gone and got a Hyundai Coupe F2 Evo!! :)

I am not sure but I think you may have the right to sue him. Its very very naughty to wright a cheque when you have no funds. Infact its fookin theft and if you are been the victim of theft you can have him nicked. I would first start by contacting the police. good luck.

I really can't see you being liable - when he bought the tax disk, he formed a contract with them and you were an un-related third party. They should have been dilligent enough to swipe his cheque guarantee card, or refused to issue the disk until it had cleared.

Saying it's your responsibility is like saying if I buy a jacket from a shop with a cheque then sell it on ebay, then it's the buyer's responsibility to reimburse the shop! don't believe what they tell you because they're a government body... they're masters of deceipt! Ask them to inform you in writing that they have the legal right to cancel your tax disk, and to state what legislation gives them the right to do so.

Nowt wrong with them Hyundai coupe's They seem to be producing some nice cars nowadays? And what a warrenty you get. Although I think Kia are now doing a 7 yes 7 year warrenty.

The one I got is a F2 Evolution (1999 model). Its a stop gap but having said that I have the option of having it for good!! Its nice..not as fast as the Zed obviously, but a nice looking cheaper run around..to be honest the Porsche has put me off after sideways steves tax scam. He was supposed so e-mail me pics of the Zed "done up etc!" I wondered why he went quiet. Just sad that he could not do justice on the tax front. I gavce him a car that I was honest of its faults..he had letters from the DVLA but couldnt even warn me let alone a sorry.

Sorry Rich666,

Just so p****d off that he'd have done that. How does anyone not know that their 6 months tax has bounced then sell the car with the "new" tax disc on????

I'd appreciate that!! Thankx again..Its left me 85 squids out of pocket......how can people do this??

I aint into arguing anymore BUT! It nearly always seems to happen with newly reg'd or sub'd members? Maybe I am wrong but thats how it always seems to be. I wish you luck and hopefully he will make it right by refunding or compensating you. But we still shouldnt get a linch mob organised until he has proved himself a twat?

Someone with user name sidewayssteve has posted in the Scottish section under FISRT MEET OF 2007, not that I want you to start a witch hunt but why not try asking him to explain himself.

dont think bullying should be resorted to :nono:

/\/\/\....Why not?.....Better than popping around his house and bullying him! I thought that's what internet forums and freedom of speech were all about!

Whenever I've bought a car or bike I've always got it home and found some problem or other.

If you got away with just loosing 5 months tax, that's not too bad.

That said he was very cheeky to pull that stunt. He must have realised you were going to find out he's been dishonest. I assume you have his name and address too.
