Hi there, hope you are well. I was wondering if anyone knew of a place/website where i can purchase a reconditioned front caliper from, please?

My passenger side one goes click when i use the brakes, and squeals when braking lightly. The front shakes when braking hard around 60mph, so i think the disc is knackered too...again.

Thanks for your time,

Mr Pink

High.

Need to know what car it is TT N/A etc as I believe they are different.

I have 2 front callipers ott a TT SWB jap import that could be purchased at the moment. Wouldn't want to split the pair though. There are some disks as well but I am not sure how good they are.

You might want to consider an upgrade to the brembo skyline GTR callipers.

Do a search and I am sure you will find lots of posts.

Re-conditioning is pretty easy to do mate, the kit is cheap as well. On the other hand the front shaking could be steering bushes or more likely the tension rods.

Thanks for all of your replies, very much appreciated. I'll have a look at the recon kits first I think.

Bit worried about the tension rod things now. :(

Cheers!

P.S. The motor is an auto TT LWB, 1990.

There's Import Car Parts doing recon kits comprising 4 pistons and a seal kit for about £80. Or pistons for £20 each. - on Ebay or call him on 01388 834204. His seal kits were also about £20. Limited qty available!

In my experience on my car it was the inboard pistons that suffered from corrosion and siezing once the dust bellows perish and you could probably do both sides using just 4 new pistons and a seal kit. The outer pistons were perfect on mine.

You obviously also need caplipers that are still serviceable such that you can get the stuck pistons out some way.

Also if your flush you might as well do em all.

a certain trader on zclub does new not recon calipers on zclub... good price too!

I think I've got some tension rods that I bought off of AndyP on here last year before I sold my Zed. Let me know if you do want them, I paid Andy £35 I think, so same to you. Have a look at the rubbers on your existing ones (underneath in front of the front wheels). If they are gungy then they are knackered. Its quite common.

OK, I'll have a look tonight and let you know about the tension rods then, thanks Royal.

And thanks again to all the others who've helped out with great replies.

Cheers!
