After the whole crap brake caliper incident i then found i needed new rear brake pads thought that'd be it.

Took it to zworx for a check up and see why it was pulling slightly to the left and the inner side of the tyres were worn. Micky's found the reason why:

Tie rods, suspension arms and bushes need replacing on the front and the hicas is faulty and steering permanently left on the back hence i went through a set of rear tyres in under 8 weeks :(

*****cks, looking at the far side of 500 quid to sort that all out now :headvswal

hmm well i'm definately not lowering it now, i think it looks about the right level to me so i guess if it tightens up the handling and doesnt wear these yoko parada spec 2's quickly then it can only be a good thing :D

Yeh, look at it in a positive way - A chance to replace worn old knackered bushes with polybushes(where applicable), and once all the work has been done it will drive and handle so much nicer.

I was thinking poly bushes would be better. think i might have a word with micky before he orders the parts for me

Also polybushes usually cheaper than the original rubber items

I'm going the polybush route. Well, at least the rear subframe bushes. I also aim to get adjustable camber arms front/rear and adjustable tension rods front/rear and all the suspension sundries such as the little gaskets, bellows, bump stops and other odds and sods. Not to mention Eibach springs and KYB shocks.

Excellent, better ride for less money. I'll give him a text tomorrow and ask him to get them instead :D

Was thinking about going the adjustable route as it's not a huge amount more i guess

One thing that can make or break a Z, other than in ride, is a poor stance. I've seen Zs lowered and the front wheels are at such a negative camber, it not only looks shagged, but gives the whole stance a nasty view.

I won't be lowering mine now, i was thinking about it but where the wheels sit the only end that possibly needs dropping is the backs, the fronts are perfect

:slap:

lol, i know what you mean matey it makes sense but i think my budget is going to be a bit stretched this month as it is :(

I'll give you a call tomorrow and we'll have a chat.

Cheers,

I got the adjustable upper arms and Tie rods from Smithy. The rear HICAS arms had quite a bit of play so I replaced those too and put in a HICAS eliminator bar at the same time. PaulC set up the 4 wheel alignment for me and now it is like driving a new car !! The handling is soooo much better :D

sorry to hear theres more work to be done buddy. at least now you know what the problem is and it can be sorted once and for all!

Echo what Dave said - sorry you've got to spend more. Never good to get sprung with a big bill.

But at least it may improve the handling though.

Im fitting adjustable front tension rods this week, anyone got a 4 wheel aligner near me?

What for???

working on the front tension rods wont alter the rear alignment!

Mate I know cost is a sore point but you will most definatly feel the benifit, I did, so bite the bullit and make the car safe first.

No but it will effect the front! Sorry pete :slap: it was off subject! Ill go create my own thread! :hyper:
