Hi all, this is my first post so be gentle! I've just bought my first 300ZX (k reg), i found her gathering dust at the back of an old guys garden turned out to be his sons. Anyway he told me the gearbox (automatic)was leaking fluid and the the Turbo's need re-conned or renewed, this is not a problem as i was looking for something as a hobby to put back on the road. The car starts first turn of the key but struggled to get it home, had to rev like mad to get any forward motion and i dont think it got out of first, so it was a case of rev and coast. Luckily i only live just down the road otherwise i would have had it recovered. Anyway looking for help and advice on everything as i'm more used to working on BM's and only manuals.

Cheers. :hyper:

Hope you didnt pay much for the car? engine out to do turbos, while engine is out junk the auto box and go for manual conversion, that should see a nice hole in 3k, which you could of bought a decent one for, sorry to sound depressing. Welcome to the club anyway, and good luck mate. :D

not so much if you do it yourself, about a grand for the manual conversion kit and turbos if you get stock ones of here and get them recond.

Back again, always end up with visitors when you don't want them.

Only paid £800 for the car, has immaculate black leather interior and found it had an Alpine head unit with CD multichanger in the boot. Bodywork is good, could only find a few bubbles on the spoiler but from reading through the threads on hear thats normal. Standard alloys, needs areally good clean as it must have been sitting a long time. Will post some pics once cleaned, not in too much off a hurry to get in on the road. As for calling in sick at work and increasing my overdraught, i don't work as i has a heart attack 4 days after my 32nd birthday (2 years ago) but i have a very understanding wife to support me. Just hope she doesn't read this. LOL.
