The zed import i'm buying has a Blitz ECU listed as one of the mods that was made by the previous owner.

Is this an entirely new ecu? is it another name for a chip?

If it's a chip then if I decided to purchase a boost controller and up the boost, would this be safe? The car already has filters & exhaust.

Many years ago Blitz did a replacement complete ECU and for some reason listed it only available for jap imports. Pretty sure it was big money too ;)

So this will go alongside the ecu?

What will be the advantage of having it?

NO mate, read again "a replacement complete ECU " you only have 1 engine ECU.

oh and no de-limiter and increase in boost with different fueling/timing maps.

I have a Blitz ECU..

Branded "Blitz Access" on the case as well as a bunch of Japanese text.

came fitted with the car...

The guy I bought her from also gave me the "stock" ECU, spare set of tubs (I think he was hell bent on blowing the ones fitted just to swap them out..) :p

Running 14psi boost.. on standard injectors.. (555's to come) and the CATS still in place.. but man it can pull like a train... :p

The car is a 92 TT Auto... I find the throttle real sensative... the slightest travel on the pedal and the gear-box wants to drop down the gears and shoot off..

... I put this down to the ECU set up as my previous TT auto was much more sedate with the gears..

flikz.

So if I wanted the car uping in boost by fitting a boost controller, possibly some colder plugs and bigger injectors.... can the blitz ecu easily be remapped by the likes of zedworld and other mappers around the country?

Lol Zedworld doesn't map cars he just sells chips. Wouldn't have thought it can be remapped, IIRC it's just a stock ECU with a Blitz chip in it?

Right so its not a complete new ecu? What does the blitz chip do? raise the boost? does it take off the limiter?

Fuel/timing maps & limiter removed I expect. Boost control isn't done by ECU.

So if I were to get a digital boost controller and up the boost then the blitz chip that is currently on there will cater for the extra psi and not encounter problems with fueling etc?

correct, but a Blitz setup tends to be quite aggressive so it may be overfuelling. best to get it rolling-roaded by professionals. i know its probably a fair trek but Thor in Warwickshire knew their beans.

In theory yes, but you will need to use high octane fuel all the time. I'd be surprised if the boost hasn't been raised already, given that there's a BlitZ ECU in there.

The Blitz Access ECU is a computer which replaces the existing ECU. Replacing the stock ECU with either a piggyback unit or an entire replacement, such as this, is commonly known as 'chipping' the car. The Blitz Access computer does not rely on fooling the ECU with external clamping circuits or making sensors read differently, it properly re-programs the factory limits, and all the fueling is adjusted accordingly. The Blitz Access computers are so technically advanced, they can even be purchased with maps for larger injectors. The Blitz Access ECU's are available for most japanese cars, so please enquire if there is an Access ECU for your car.

Doubt they'd come with boost jets though so no increase in boost. Would be designed to run with an EBC...

YES IT IS A COMPLETE ECU..............................................................

With a Chip inside designed by Blitz in a Blitz ECU

Yes you can up the boost, NO you can't add bigger injectors (555's) with it, the chip would need removing and in answer to yer other questions, I answered them 10 posts ago, geez wheres me fags.

They ain't fella, i answered all yer questions and right upto post 9 it was done and dusted, Jay questioned himself it "might" be a chip and not an ecu but didn't know and thats it, no one else said anything different.

Happy to help bud, but just read what someone says "it is" and not what they say they "think", to be sure ;)

The Blitz ECU I saw was just a Nissan one with a Blitz chip in it and lots of stickers on the box :x:

It's not a Blitz designed standalone engine management system if that's whats confusing people.

I presume the car has had a boost controller fitted in the past and it was removed before it was sold.

The Blitz maps are pretty agressive and you'd definately have to use high octane fuel if you up the boost.

Nope, i think he's got it now bud.
