Is that hot or cold??

4 and 6 look a little low. Suspicious that they are next to each other too. Was that test wet or dry ?

I didnt do the test so im not a 100% sure but im guessing its hot as it was driven to where the test was which is about a 25-30 drive away.

Again im not sure mate.

I just got sent these numbers and was asked to put them up here. Ill try and find out.

Engine hot, just been for a 30min drive. Throttle wide open etc... all done right.

I didnt bother wet testing as it started to rain and wanted to get it back together.

It seems like the heads were off the engine and had new gaskets, seals, valves ground in etc... by nissan (receipts) but no work on the bottom of the engine, crank/pistons and that.

So looks like a 17 year old bottom end. Turbos have been done.

Would you say they were anything to worry about mate?

It could be a number of things. Could be ring or Bore wear but also could still be Valves leaking or Headgasket even though it has been done reciently.

The bottom end must have been checked though?

It was done by nissan so who knows :)

They managed to put the turbo pressure pipes on the wrong way round.

sounds like worn rings to me which is down to age mate, yes you can mod it but it wont last very long until they go so be prepared for a rebuild on it as they are fairly low and you will be losing pressure from the bottom end.

if this car is expensive i would walk away mate unless you plan on spending money on it?

Mike

Do a wet test as well, that'll give you a better idea as to whether it's rings or headgasket (or even valves).

  I like that bit......if you are going to buy a 300zx between 10 and 17 years of age, you will spend money on it even if its in Excellent order. It just comes down to how much you are going to or be willing to spend and if you intend to Mod it:D

Ask Kirbz about Engine Rebuilds ;)

Do you have deep Pockets  :p

Welcome to the Club!! :D

On a serious note ! PM me if you need any advice mate should you decide to buy this Car..

Allright mike :)

This is a looker more then a engine modding car to be honest. I dont know what the costs are for rebuilding engines so dont know whether it works out cheap or not to be honest.

I was going to spend money on it but hadnt planned on the engine as it was meant to have been rebuilt by nissan and it has a bill for just one occasion for £4400 :(
