Travel Tax!!!!!! Register now or it will be imposed in 14 days

As it says

Believe it or not this half witted government intend to impose this Travel Tax and vote in 14days to make it Legislation. They intend that all cars will be fitted with a tracking device. This will then generate a bill at £1.34 per mile.

It will also be able to raise speeding tickets, do you for running a red light, + (Now this isn't a big deal to me, but if I wanted to have an affare or go get a bit of smoke,( perhaps I have a family member with muscular distrophy) what ever it's my choice.) check if you are visiting people who may be dealing etc. the bounderis are endless for priversy invation.

This charge would cot me £99.14 per day to go to work. £14.42 to nip to the shop for a pint of milk and a loaf of bread.

I already pay 80% of my petrol and derv bill in tax. £170 X 2 for my Volvo and Z + £192 for my Truck. Even though I can only drive one at a time.

Register on http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/traveltax or prepare to get a push bike, go bankrupt what ever.

Well according to a daily rag its up for a vote in 14 days time. Maybe it is ******ks and I sincerely hope so, but it will not do any harm to register our feelings, because the idea of tracking chips in cars a legistlation in constantly being mooted and it there is a reaction in large enough numbers to say no way Josey. Then it won't happen.

It’s just an idea that the government are working around. It’s one of many that have come before us and have vanished. I don’t doubt that some kind of road tolling will appear though…as it already has done and increased areas where a congestion charge will become applicable. But an out and out tracking of car movements and a pay per mile facility just won’t happen, least not for 10 – 20 years. The technology is there, but the implementation is unfeasible at the moment and the foreseeable future. It not only would cost the public a fortune which would be deeply unpopular, but with the sort of expenses the government are talking about, it would seriously effect the UK economy.

So does 3/4 of a million migrant workers working for minimum wages and paying on average £14.30 Tax a year. Putting a smillar amount of UK born residents on the Dole. Highest number of unemployed ever. They used to pay Tax at and average of 23% + 8.9% NIC. then the employer payed 15% NIC on top.

Not only is there a drop in revenue, there is the additional strain placed on the NHS and Schools. + The local business that are going out of business because the poles send their money home and don't spend here.

The governments live in the London bubble and judge everything by what they see around them. Rich and lavish. FFS everything is spent on the wealthy corner of this Island to the point that the Scotts, Welsh, Irish and even us northerners are starting to look at independance. Governments have allowed this to happen and so you think with the country disintergrating and they do nothing that something as dumb as this is beyond them.

Am I the only one getting deja vu here? :D

Apparently not, but you know how much I love a dyslexic debase.

I see your argument, but kinda disagree with it to a certain extent. Migrant workers are filling a void in the UK providing unskilled labour to places where not only would it cost double to employ a native worker, but they actually now have someone to do that work and willingly.

In the short term it might seem as if it's having a negative effect, but overall, it helps improve productivity as a nation and thus, boosting the economy.

True Si, from my previous experiences on the building site, the long term workers always complained about how 5hitty their work was! but the migrants just got on with it including most crap jobs that no one else wanted to do. Now as the migrants save the money their becoming richer and in some cases are having the last laugh. I knew this one guy who earned about £300 a week and has been working in this country for about 6 years and had just bought a £300,000 house which is alot of money. I suppose its just the way the economy grows. Over the years their has always been an influx people coming from abroad to work IMHO.

Don't work like that though because if people don't have money in there pocket to buy stuff then the local economy falls apart and people then stop buying the goods that are now being made by the cheap and willing, but still none contributing workforce.

The main reason it doesn't work though is because Britain doesn't produce anything anymore to export. We don't pruduce capital equipment to sell. The Poles are maning the Food factories, but they don't buy it because it doesn't look or taste like smoked sausage.

Of course we produce something to export! Britains biggest export is BS ;) :D

Correct, we don't manufacture much here. UK is where the vast majority of worldwide R&D is based. It's all economies of scale...the goods are produced overseas to make them cheaper to buy. People wouldn't buy anything if it was made in the UK as it would be too expensive.

The UK is still at one of its lowest as far as unemployment goes for the last 20 - 30 years at least. So it's not having any effect on the

      no i've got some work to do now. its been that quiet for the last month i nearly fell over when we got and order in this afternoon.

Well if it is true???? Then I will be going to jail because they can fook off.

I read a report about this in one of the IT industry weekly mags. It was saying there that the technology isn't sufficiently reliable yet to do it, but they are in support of it and are continuing to develop it. I doubt it would take long as there's a lot of cash rapped up in it. I've signed the petition a while back on the downing site website as I'm sick of the nanny state mentality. Just out of interest on this one though: common sense would say that they would work it in such a way that the average household pays about the same tax as they do now (or a bit more if you are the cynical ones). Maybe this would benefit enthusiasts like us who have several cars and are paying out silly tax and insurance for something that we don't drive very often?? Just a thought. Even if it was the case I still don't want any black fduking box in the back of my car telling people where I've been......

i dont see the point, we are currently taxed for how much pollution we pump into the environment and for the distance we drive at the moment, it's the 70% we pay at the pump, and the tax you pay depends on the distance and "thirstyness" of your car and its 100% accurate,

on the topic of the migrant workforce

the majority of these people are over here working doing jobs that most english people think are beneath them (and therefore sit on the dole)

Britain has always had a migrating work force

irish

African

Asian

and eastern european

most send money home, pay taxes and NI and travel home within 2 years, leaving their NI and tax contribution behind for us to use.

some stay and become well established members of the community and have families who adapt into society and become very successful,

some join the rest of the lazy people on the dole,

at the end of the day, we are all human, and when we have 42 inch plasma TVs sitting on our walls when some nations can't even afford food, I consider myself lucky.

a socialist state abused by the few is much better than most other forms of rule,

Well as you see from the News on TV and the Daily papers. This is infact True and not a wind up. Also the website is Official and Collapsed due to public response. So Now its back up and running all you doubting Thomas please put your names up.

It only crashed because everyone was scared and shitting their pants....hence the reason it was brought crashing to its knees. ;)

Tried to register, entered my details and was told "We've sent you an email; before your signature is added to the petition you'll have to click the link in it."
