Hi All

Bought my Z the Weekend and I Love it!!! Just a few Questions though The Gear Sifter has so much Play in it when in all the Gears is that right the Bushings are Worn Out? and also the Drivers Door doesn't work which I've been told is a plastic clip that Breaks.

One more thing I'm getting a Short Shifter for my Baby will this come with the Bushings I Need

regards Dino x x x

Welcome!

So what did you buy then???

ย

Ebay short shifters usually have bushes with them. If not then Mike at MJP will sort some for you.

door catches are prone to breaking and it is often the plastic that the rod pushes into.

it could be as you said the linkage clip on the inside of the door has come detached, does the central locking work ok, when your sat in the car?

your bushings are knackered :) , fiddly job, but in all honesty POP :p

ย

shortshifters do come with bushings, problem is, there nomally plastic, and have no form of race in the middle, so when you nip the linkage bolt up tight it tends to be really tight to get in to gear, some grease helps, but new oem one would be better, you may even have to reshape the new nissan ones as they probably wont fit the shortshifter very well!

ย

you may find it better to just change the bushings and keep the standard shifter, but thats up to you :)

just had my standard shifter (complete with knackered bushings) replaced with a short shifter and boy does it make a difference!

Which one did you go for Dave? This is something I'm planning to do soon but I'm not sure whether to get the Fidanza one from zcentre or one off ebay.
