I am probably now going to do up the SWB blue TT manual slicktop that I bought a few days ago. It had minor accident damage, but it drives lovely.

I would make more money if I dismantled it, but it would seem such a shame to dismantle one of the rare slicktop TT manuals.

Anyway, heres the poll........

Please look at photo and tell me

1. Do you think its a good colour already, or would you change the colour, bearing in mind it costs a lot more to change the colour ?

2. Would you keep the big rear spoiler or would you remove the spoiler before respraying it ?

3. Change rear lights back to standard or keep the aftermarket ones.

My opinion is keep the colour and remove the spoiler, keep the lights.

Thanks in advance.

Andy

I would keep it the same colour, keep the spoiler but...........................

ditch those rear lights for some 99 spec and change the alloys for a lighter coloured set.

It might look a bit like this then ;)

It is quite a plain dark blue at the moment, not metallic as far as I can tell

Original paint is always a plus.

That blue suites the zed.

Gold wheels and blus bodywork is also cool!

Spoiler - 50/50

PLEASE LOOSE THE LIGHTS!!!

Best of luck,

Andy

I've added a 3rd question, keep or lose the lights ?

keep the colour(unless it needs a repsray anyway)

return the spoiler back to the mother from whom it was stolen from her pram

dump the lights and go for 99 spec ones.

Paul.

The rear light panel looks like it's been blended in to the body (Yuk!) so it will be a big job to put 99 spec's back in.

just break it. Make the easy money. Its simple and less hassle

everyone will say .. NO No .... do it up......

but when it comes to selling it they will all want it for £2000.

And its a mingin colour anyway. Has it got that awful blue interior too.

Cheeky fooker

Undecided about the spoiler, but think it would look all in proportion if you changed the rear lights...which I'd do anyway without hesitation.

I'd say keep the colour and lights but get rid of the spoiler, also change the rear bumber to the big one from z centre.

imo :)

Wouldn't match the front or the rest of the car though. Unless you're replacing both bumpers and smoothing the swage line, it'll always look miss-match. Which is why I never understood people putting an aftermarket bumper on a Z and not changing anything else as it just doesn't match the car. It's a nice bumper though.

repair it tax and test it and DRIVE IT cool looking car

Keep the colour  lose the spoiler :hurl:

My opinion, if I had the time and the funds:

Change the colour. That blue is terrible in that photo.

Lose the spoiler. Never cared for the "pram handle" style.

Change the lights. The old Fiat light conversion never looked great as the lights were too small. Change it for the larger round light conversion if you want it to look different.

personaly m8, loose the alloys nice chrome ones look good against dark background, keep the clour and lights, loose the prambar lol

if it were 12 months in the future i may have it ;)

see my signature for best look, just some nice side skirts and a 99spec front bumper to finish it off

Well so far looks as if the colour will stay (save some cash too :) )

Spoiler will "probably" come off.

Change wheels for brighter silver colour.

Just those lights to think about now, as it may be a lot of work to remove them (they've been blended in to bodywork). Looks like more people dis-like the lights than like them.

Slick Pete, I hear where you're coming from with dismantling it idea, but if nothing else it shows that I'm not just in this game to make money (despite what some people may think). Lets just hope people appreciate this fact when I come to sell it. Even though I spend half my life taking them apart, I still have an affinity with and a respect of the Z32 marque. Long live the Z !!! especially the slicktops ;)

Thanks

If I was selling it, I'd sort the damege, give it a right good polish and leave it as it is.

Who knows what the buyer will prefer.

Although if it needed much paint anyway, I might get it resprayed.
