Hello All

As a soon to be father it is time to let the Zed go whether that be in bits or as a running concern for someone.

I'm not sure what it's worth in todays market but that what I'm here for, your advice.

I also have a complete spare engine to go with the car and will even throw in the once used engine stand costing £60. I'll also include the Conzult official software with full license for upgrades and a Toshiba Portege slimline Laptop with the official Conzult connector. Oh, I have 2 Z keyrings (one cost £20!!) and 2 keys for the car. It also has a CAT1 alarm and immobiliser.

Those of you that have been on this board for the last 4 years will know the story behind this car pretty well. When I took Chunk for a drive he described the car as 'the fastest zed he'd been in' and easily a sub 13 1/4 mile car.

The car needs the headgaskets changing and thats what the spare engine was for. There is also no MOT or Tax as its been off the road for a while because of the headgasket and what with getting married last summer and now the baby coming along, I just dont have the space or time to get it finished. I have a Supra (I can hear the boo's now :o) ) that I can drive everyday so its not all bad for me but we need a better car for my wife and child so its time to let go after 4 years. I have all the receipts and comprehensive documentation since I have owned the car all in a folder; including the receipt for the new turbos fitted at Option Motorsport in Silverstone. I shant tell you that amount it cost! :o) The car will need 2 new rear tyres for the MOT. All the interior panels have also been taken out the car and the twed has been removed. They are ready to be covered and I have some foam and material for a test but I never got round to finish this; a small job and perhaps an ideal stage for someone to choose their own colour.

Anyway, enough gassing, what do you think its worth whole? Or is is better to break? :)

if u breaking ..dibs on divorce down pipes and 550 injectors, intake hard pipes and maybe apexi gauges

Break it, if you have the time & space you'll get a lot more back than selling it as a non runner.

first dibs on tubs and boost controller and koni shocks, 2nd dibs on injectors, if your breaking. Shame to break tho

shame to break.. but i reckon you would get more money .... seeing the prices of zeds lately... 2K here.... 3K there... its not worth selling them!

p.s... *wink wink* Apexi Twin-Chamber Blow-Off Valves - dibs 4 Hpie!!

i'll take the turbos and blow off valves!

i'll take the turbos and blow off valves!

erm excuse me i put first dibs in on the tubs, thank you :D

the T25 hybrd turbos, how good are they in terms of performance? Whats the max boost and most HP you can get out of them ??

Max HP has been debated on here before. I believe CJ's best was 420bhp but in my opinion with the right mods you'll reach 450bhp before they max out. I cant remember the max boost but I'm sure it's around 28psi. The most I ever ran was 20psi and that felt unbelieveable.

It's looking at this point like I'm going to have to break although I would much prefer to sell whole.

OK another question.

Whats the car worth in a running state with the engine sorted?

you will get MUCH more back by breaking it, and thats not just because I wouldnt mind some parts!

Hi Mark

Sorry you leaving, but congrats on the forth coming arrival.

However I know the real truth Mark. If You got a Supra you just carn't be arsed with the ball ache of removing knuckles etc to fix the Z. I don't blame you, but it would have been nice to see it back in action. Anyway good luck for the future and remeber to drop us a line now and again.

I'll soon be one of the longest served members left at this rate.

Damn it, rumbled! :) No its true Mark, the Supra has to be the most reliable sports car I have ever owned and if I had a double garage then I guarantee that I would finish the Zed. The turth is however is that trying to run the Zed everyday for work, even when fixed, would just cost too much; then there's reliability but we wont go there!. The Supra isnt cheap but its a damn sight easier to work on than the Zed.

With the child coming along I dont want to be stuck in a shed in the cold fixing my car in the evenings after work; I want to be at home spending time with the young one. And that's what swayed my decision.....

I will have another Zed in the future but before that happens I'll have the 4-bed house with the double garage, with a lift and everything; one day.....

I suppose I'd best starting pricing parts up!

How much for the whole car for a project? :mac1:

Yeah call my works phone on:

Ta.

If I wasn't broke after Christmas, I,d have made you an offer. I really wish I hadn't sold my SWB project car. Then again I wouldn't be looking at a nice little Honda S2000 with a supercharger. So its probberly for the best.

Congrats on the new arrival mate and the marriage! Didn't know you got hitched! Is it to the woman with the MR2? If so well done mate. Sorry your selling up mate. You might get that supra in your garage as well. Is the silver primera yours as well. Also better to sell as a whole mate. You might not get the same amount but well less hastle this way. You have my number if you have anything I want (loads) lol.

Ivan

Sell as is = £4000

Sell with MOT + faults fixed = £6000

Break? No idea. These Are just my opinions with todays Zed market on what you could ACTUALY get, not what you would get in an Ideal world.

Thanks Nick.

The most I have been offered so far is £1000. I'd rather work 2 months of overtime than sell her for that!

well i would give you £1500 but didnt offer this as i think you will get more breaking it. i have looked at the pictures you have put up and i think it still needs alot of money spending on it. if i had it i would want a full respray and the interior doing for starters and IMO is the reason you have had low offers, i would break it mate

Unfortunately I agree. It won't be fun to rip a project you've put time into apart. But I think you'll get more that way.
