Over the moon that cretten has been booted out of Big Brother.

It's been cringe TV all week. She makes you feel embarrassed to be English, listening to her verbal abuse all week.

Her 2 mates were no better either.

 

Danielle comes out with a comment like 'I wished she'd just fook off home' and Jade comes out with 'Shilpa Popadom'. If those two comments aren't racist, then I don't know what is.

I think she was stupid, ignorant and jealous but I don't think she is really racist.

 

She used phrases that could be considered rasicst in the current climate.

 

I think she just didn't like Shilpa for other reasons and once she didn't like her used racist language. But I don't think she disliked her for being foreign.

 

I'm glad Jade's out though. And I'm a big Shilpa fan - she is a babe, very cultured, sucessful and showed great strength of character.

I think the end of the day she's an uncultured girl who hasn't got any relative experience with asian people and probably didn't know what to expect.

 

I know that different generations grow up with varying knowledge of other cultures and i myself didn't meet any asian guys/gals till i went to De Montfort Uni in Leicester and it was a bit of a cultureshock but i got used to it and have some great mates from all sorts of different cultures.

 

Jade was thrown into an enclosed house with an asian lady who she didn't hit it off with and unfortunately with all of the girls there ganging up on her the fact she was from india gave them some "racist" ammo to throw at her. A couple of comments were particularly bad but i don't think they had the brainpower to realise what they were saying would have such a bad reaction.

 

I hope they all realise and learn from this what NOT to do on a national tv program but at the end of the day i can't blame them for they way they are if they didn't have alot of experience with people of an asian culture before and all they had was the standard racist stereotypes passed down to them by their families and friends.

Well that's the point i'm trying to get across, to her those insults were normal and possibly terms her family throw around because they don't know any asian people but she obviously had no idea that in the normal world you don't say things like "shilpa poppadom" as harmless as she made it out to be.

 

Watching her "patching stuff up" on the bench was painful to watch you could feel the embaressment oozing out :D

At the beginning she had no problem with Shilpa - if she was racist she would have.

 

When she got to know her, they just didn't get on for other reasons.

 

Then once Jade didn't like her, she was rude and called her names some of which are racist. But I think her dislike of Shilpa was non-race related.

This news was on page 5 of the sun the other day but Jade Goodie "famous in her own head" gets a 3 page spread including most of the front page.

 

Troops are still dying in Iraq and Afganistan, well I think they are, you just don't hear about it.

Well after reading the papers yesterday, Jade's money isnt going to last long... think all of her sponsors have dropped her, Debenhams have removed all of her products from thier shops!!!

 

Serves her right really, she know's that the whole counrty is watching her and can hear every word she says! but she still carried on, IIRC even the car phone ware house have removed their sponsorship from channel 4 because they say no racist remarks were made!!

Can i just say that although I had no particular problem with Jade and even liked her to some extent, I have found her venom discusting.

 

I would also like to say that comments like "I wish she would fook off home" is in my opinion, NOT RACIST, the content with which it was used was. If she had come from Spain or Germany it would never have been questioned, but the comment made by the black guy, sorry don't know his name, about being white trailer trash IS RACIST.

 

I don't think Jades outbursts were racially motivated or racist, she is just too thick, but in the times we live in where we can't say anything without being accused of being racist it was bound to happen.

 

I do think Shilpa held herself very well and just shows the culture in which she was brought up in is far more dignified than our own.
