Ok peeps, I'm having trouble.

I got a spare bonnet a couple of months ago with the intention of venting it. I'm after something fairly subtle but functional as the idea is to draw the heat out rather than force more air in.

If you have any ideas, I'm open to all suggestions, so don't be scared to go a bit different.

Cheers

Alex.

That would funnel the water in nicely

It's a really nice looking bonnet but I agree we Vinz and that's exactly what I'm trying to avoid, wherever you have a vent styled like that it's gonna drop water onto something you don't want it to!!!! I use my Z as a daily driver and I don't have a garage so it's out in the elements at all times.

I had an idea, note the intake on the bonnet (not the girl lol) well i was gonna get a pair of those intakes and reverse them so they faced the other way and bolt them to the bonnet, 1 on each side should help get the heat out plus they have a slight lip so should stop water running in, i thought it would look pretty cool, might even still do it yet?

thats why i liked my idea

I have a vented nose panel and a vented bonnet to the rear. The air comes in the nose vent across the engine drawing the heat and out the bonnet vent. Works quite well and there is a small lip in the bonnet under the vent to stop water entering the engine compartment.

its no good forcing air in iff it cant get out. it would be a lot better to have rear facing vents with a small 4-6 inch fan on the underside of the bonnet to "draw" the heat out instead of forcing air in with no exit, ime going down this road this summer to try save whats left of my connectors

thats why i thought of fitting 2 intake scoops off of a z31 turning them around so they would vent the hot air out towards the screen
