The worst bit is trying to get the inside nut back on (on a TT anyway, not sure what all the pipework's like on the N/A)....it's hard enough to get off, but getting it back in...? I gave up. I've got 3 bolts per headlight and it's pretty rock-solid.

Yes it's PITA but possible, I followed that when I cleaned the lenses in my headlights

How did you clean the headlights?

Do you have to put them in the oven to melt the glue to get them apart or something like that?

Nice one Si - that could save me some grief.

you can do it with a hair dryer and use wide flat screwdrivers to prise it apart. Keep heating all the way round and don't force it or you could chip the glass. Once heated it will come apart ;)

Vijay

From what I've read, quite a few people haven't refitted those corner bolts. Headlights still sit there with almost no movement.

I used a heat gun, a bit like a paint stripper heat gun

Oh and BTW I managed to refit all the nuts and bolts ;)

Sorry to hijack, but dont you have 99 spec headlights on your car Craig?

Paul.

Unfortunatley I have the regular headlights.

The Nissan HIDs were an option on the 1999 NA - which mine never had. :(

Edit - maybe it's a good thing now I'm having to replace one though! I bet getting a replacement Nissan HID light wouldn't be cheap.

Personally think the OE headlights look better rather than fitting those chrome inserts. Darker and more menacing. :)

Me too. Fair play to those who chrome chose to them but it's not for me.
