Are big puddles a big no no for Z's ?

Im sure i recall reading horror stories of engines being destroyed by puddles?

Tonight i went 25 miles out of my way on the way home from work to avoid a puddle, it looked quite deep but i guess u can never tell till you hit it, but i turned around and added 30 mins to my journy ?

wise decision!

i did the same the other night, did a 3 point turn (much to the annoyance of the queue behind)

just not worth the risk

big puddles are a no no for most cars, if it gets sucked into your engineand fills the chambers-well you can guess what happens next

I'm always cautious anyway, but I think it mainly depends on your filter installation.

If you have the splash-guard then you're a lot better off as there isn't a way to directly soak the filter (unless the puddle is actually that deep!). If the guard is missing then you'll be loads more susceptible to water injestion- best case the filter can't let enough air through and you lose power; worst case water actually gets taken into the engine and you start bending metal.

Maybe there's a market for snorkel-equipped Zeds?!

TRUST ME - BIG PUDDLES AND A ZED DO NOT MIX!!!!

I found out the hard way lol.

My wife knackered my Cosworth trying to get through a puddle that was up to the top of the fence posts ...

Technically, that would be a pond and not a puddle
