There would not be any issues as you would alter the tyre profile (255/35/18) so that the running circumference/wheel diameter remain the same as the stock wheels.

Richard :)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

yeah i was gonna do that but was still worried about the width change

the 255's are cheaper than the 245's on falken at the moment on the 452's

thx guys

If your taking about the rear then absolutely no problems in fact the typical 300zx aftermarket fitment for 18's is a 265 wide on the rear, I would'nt go any narrower than a 255 rear on a TT.

I have 285 with 19"...no clearance issues and I have very low suspension.

If your talking about the fronts then depending on suspension height you could come into very occasional clearance issues and tramlining would start to become more apparant

cheers legrath , that hits the spot mate , was thinking 265 might be too wide but as they are only 2 quid more expensive than the 255's was gonna get the 265's

What width wheels are you talking about fitting 285 tyres to i have 9" rears with 255 and the fit good wont any larger bulge past the wheel rim.I also run 9" wheels on the front with a 225 tyre to not too steched fit fine.

just fitted the wheels with 265 35 18 on the rear on a 9.5" rim, it is right at the edge of the cars profile but not going past the body line

Have a good look at.... http://www.chris-longhurst.com ..... Click onto 'Car Maintenance Bibles', then roll down just a little and click onto the 'Wheel and Tyre Bible'. When you get over half way down you will see a tyre width/profile calculator and further down an ideal tyre to wheel width calulator....plus loads more info.

Hope you find this useful.
