How much would u pay on insurance on a 300zx tt, im 29 with 5 years noclams one sp30, at the moment i have a mitsubishi fto and paying 450 third party with kwikfit but im thinking of getting something with a bit more grunt and the 300zx tt looks to be the one, iv read lots of reviews on gto's, Mazda RX7's and Toyota supra's but 300zx seems to be the most value for money and the most reliable.

On this forum iv read people getting insuraned for 250 and 300 quid but not with who with or how telling how old they are because we all know that makes the difference. So i could do with some advice

im with adrian flux, if you subscribe to this forum tbhere is a number in the members section that gets you a qoute through the club (discount), my insurance is fully comp 9years ncb im 27 and also have them protected, i got all this for the nice tidy sum of £480, would have been cheaper but i pay instalments

but can you have a younger named driver on a classic policy?

would have thought (most) restricted policies meant no named drivers of any age but not 100% on that....obviously anyone can drive your zed under their own insurance third party cover permission of owner etc etc...i leant mine to the bro in law for a weekend once he knew he would be only be covered 3rd party

Great thanks for the help, it looks like the insurance could be about the same as my fto but the uk zx"s are a little cheaper.

How much sould u pay when buy a ZX TT, iv read that zx 1991 in good condiction will be about 3k and then it goes up from there, but imports are a little cheaper say 500 pounds less.

I know this is american, but all u do is take a third off and thats what it would be in pounds.

34 yrs old, 3 yrs no claims, DD10 :duffer: :slap: (comes off this year  ) SP30, Jspec TT Manual, A Plan (I think LOL) £480.00 With me mum as a named driver  :wack:

pitty im only 23 so cant drive other cars for another 2 years, even with a fully comp policy.

When i was 18 i had a tpft policy that said could drive other cars! Got an xr2 in the mrs's name and drove that. Got pulled over and the police said I wasn't insured as was only a tpft policy. They had a right go at me, offered to let them follow me back to show them the document. They said they were charging me with driving without insurance. Took my policy to the police station the next day and the copper that pulled me was on desk duty. She was so apologetic!

Pity now the law has actually changed and you cant drive other cars till over 25 grr

just tried that quote thing - wow

got it down to £750 fully comp, protected ncd, all mods declared

much cheaper than what i paid

Sometimes it just pays to take a day out and ring every company out there! just keep a list of the lowest 5 and then play them off each other. It annoys the hell out of the insurance guy at the other end of the phone but the amount that people pay for insurance is rediculous anyway.

Agree with Vin. When you have a few quotes, and the next company ask what your best quote so far is, knock £25 off the actual quote and if they can't beat it then you know its about right. Then ring the next till you get what you're looking for as a reasonable quote!...however, always good to note, that the cheapest is not necessarily always the best come a time you may have to claim!
