Regardless of what temperature I ask for the heater only blows out cold air.

Series 1 car

Any ideas, taking ages to clear windows in the morning.

Are you letting it warm up? Are you useing the DEF button to clear the windscreen?

May I sugest you look through the on-line service manual, which includes a Trouble Diagnoses section for this, found from this point >> http://300zx.co.uk/cgi-bin/manual.cgi?list=ha&dir=&config=&refresh=&direction=forward&scale=0&cycle=off&slide=95&design=default&total=168

Front windscreen.

And yes even after car has warmed up and driven for several miles it dosent warm up.

Front windscreen.

Yes, front windscreen, that is what the DEF button is for. That is the top left button on the left hand pod, and not the top button on the right hand pod (which is for the rear screen) Using this button blows air onto the windscreen ONLY and at a high speed, it dissables the Air-Con system so that the screen can be cleared. Once this has been done, you press the AUTO button and it should then keep the screen clear, along with directing heat accordingly.

As for no heat, go to page 112 on the link I posted and run through the diagnoses section to see if it'll throw up an answer for you.

I,ve just flushed my matrix out , a load of brown crud came out and now my heater works well
