is your 300zx tt reliable? thinking of getting one and everywhere i look people are saying there unreliable?

are they or is it people just dont look after them?

Featured Replies

people dont look after them, they usually buy a cheap ebay run about and find out later why it was cheap in the first place

ive had mine over 2 and a half years now and it has always got me to work, they do require a regular maintinence butwhich 15 year old sports car doesnt

if you buy a good one to start with that will help ive had mine for about 4 months and i havent really had a problem its used everyday by the other half and is reliable its just no good if u have kids or want to get anything in the boot and it costs a fortune in fuel on the plus side it looks great is damn fast and gives me a kick everytime i drive it!!!!!

just bear in mind when things do go wrong they CAN be fookin expensive to put right

I bought a cheap one to start and it was sh1te.

Then I bought an expensive sorted one and that is sh1te too. lol

So my answer to your question is no!!!!!!!

mine hasn't done too many miles but the only thing to go wrong with it is the injector connector on number 5 got corroded and caused a misfire.

Had mine over 2 years now , apart from routine wear and tear items that would need replacing on any car and having just done the tubs , it has never missed a beat

As already stated , get a good one and it,ll put a smile on your face everytime you drive it

Although I've had the engine rebuilt in my Z, it's actually been very reliable. Never once failed to start. Runs smoothly. All the electrics work ok.

I do try and take as much care of the thing as possible.

Mines fairly reliable, had it nearly 6 years. No major problems.

(off to find some wood to touch)

Apart from the brakes and suspension the engine seems pretty sound (touch wood!), given the choice though i'd go back to an NA just a SWB.

I drive mine day to day and the fuel economy is alot less than my old na

In a nutshell.

YES

ive had mine for 4 years and had no major problems and its flew through every MOT, i probably paid over the odds but there are a lots of cheap shite out there!

Mine has just gome through its 5th MOT with no problems, although the auto box did go a year or so ago. Other than that, there hasn`t really been a problem. Been lucky I suppose. (fingers crossed)

i think it all depends on how you drive them.

as has been seen from the replies here, some can be ok for upwards of 5yrs.

i have blown 2 engines this year!

but i do drive it very very very hard. thats why i own a car like this!!!

i have a small diesel car to drive normal so rape the zx whenever possible!!!

take from this whatever you will.

best of luck.

If you get a good one, then yes.

If you buy a dog, its gonna cost.

Dont buy a cheapie then maybe pay the price, much better to hold of a while and buy a good un. Even then, it can still go tits up.

Zed ownership is like an ice cream.

Just as you think you have it licked, it melts and drips all over you !!

Good luck.

Alan.

never relly had any probs with mine in the 6 or so years ive owned them. Just keep on top of the repairs and service it regulary.

I owned a Z TT two years ago, i owned it for 18 months and it was 100% reliable until the very last week of ownership:( Its like it knew it was being sold;) Great reliable cars:)
