Hi,

Might be a silly question, but when braking do the rear wheel brakes come into use? When I brake it just feels like the front wheel are doing all the work...

Thanks.

snx.

front brakes prob do around 75% of the work as the weight is transferred to the front of the vehicle under braking

Thanks, that's useful info, so it's worth checking/changing the rear pads as well?

do you mean as an upgrade or just as maintenance??

although they do wear less, they are a smaller, thinner pad, so still need to be checked/changed as the front ones do.

I meant get them checked over, in case they're worn out etc... Is there any point in upgrading them?

Actually, this brings a question to mind(sorry about jacking the thread  ). When people are doing "burnouts" ie holding the car on the brakes and letting rip, does this mean only the front brakes are in play? If not, surely you're ripping the hell out of the rears?
