VOTE FOR MY WHEELS: The final choices before they go off

Right well i've ran out of patients trying to do the wheels myself so i'm sending them off to a professional metalpolisher to finish them off.

Now i was set on having polished rims then black centres but then i saw three variations on my wheels and one of them in polished so should i:

OPTION 1: Stick with the silver they came in

attachment.php?attachmentid=28507&stc=1

OPTION 2: Paint the centres black to match the roof bars

attachment.php?attachmentid=23559&stc=1

or

OPTION 3: Have the centres polished and laquered with the rims (already tried the metal under the paint and it looks stunning)

What finish should i have my wheels done in? 25 members have voted

pmsl  it's taken me well over a year and two zed's to get this far i aint giving up yet

Option 3....no question about it. Much cleaner more slick appearance. Very nice rims Nick.

Personally, wouldnt bother lacquering the polished metal. Because the surface won't be keyed, the lacquer will not bond to the metalwork. You'll get very very very small areas of moisture under them and eventually the lacquer will life and you'll be left with corrosion trails. Best off having a wipe-clean - area to polish rather than a water trap.

Cheers matey, well looking like i'm going the polished root. I'm off to get some paint stripper today and get the old paint off the centres.

Already done a test area and i'm pretty certain these will be pretty bling when i'm finished with them :D

Good quality split rims tend to polish up well. Do you want the details of the guy that did mine? He's up in Notts, so not a million miles from you.
