Evening guys.

What is this connector in the engine and what purpose does it serve? (Circled in Pink)

Thanks

Damn I was too late to answer the question! This is one of about 4 engine parts I actually know about ;)

I may be well off here but I'd imagine that it can effect fuelling in that if it was set correctly then if you were say half throttle, the amount of fuel going into the engine would be different to the amount going in if it was set incorrectly.

Ok mate thanks for that. I have a couple of things to ask tho.

Every morning i start the car and head off to work, Bare in mind this is first thing in the morning (5am) and the car tends to hesitate for a second or two(usually when it has been raining the night before or the weather is damp). The feeling is the exact same as running out of petrol whilst in motion (if you know what that feels like).. For that second or two, you can put your foot to the floor, and have nothing happen, but then it picks back up again. Its like the car just dies for a couple of seconds then comes back to life.

Could this be a TPS problem.

Rob

How did that probem in the morning direct you towards the tps? Bearing in mind you didn't know what it was?

Haven't had this problem myself (I'm sure one of the big guns could answer the question though) Could it possibly be your apexi air filter is wet and it's an air problem? These can play up a lot if they get wet.

do a search for 'hesitancy' then look on the 'revs dropping' thread. see if this sounds similar at all to your problem.

I got told by Z world mate that the problem was most likely the TPS. He said they had a car having the same problem the morning i rang them.

Will have a search now mate cheers

Damn you! Why I oughta!

:headvswal

sounds to me like its a flat spot could be many things really if its only in the early morning when its cold and wet id look towards silly things like leads/plugs first but i dont know the zeds very well yet but if it is the tps i would say they are easy to change by the lok of them only a could of bolts

ah man my spelling is crap this time of night lol i meant couple

Whats all that other stuff under your bonnet?!?! ie on the rad?????

what he said,

oh and nice balance bar ;) any reason? it looks good though!

Part bolted to the rad looks like an oil catch can...

Connector highlighted is only the hard idle switch connector. If its adjustment of the actual position sensor you're after then you want the grey connector attached to the lead coming out of that unit. Middle wire in that connector should read between 0.45v and 0.5v at idle.

id look towards silly things like leads/plugs first

I would pay good money to watch some one check the plug leads on their Z lol ;)
