breather kit removal question??

Having seen various post's on the benefits of this kit (or rather not)I am keen to take mine off and make it standard again. Problem is I did not install it and have no idea on how to do this. Is it difficult? Can anyone give me a diagram of how this kit plumbs in / out. I think my kit may be responsible for a bad vaccum leak on my Zed at the moment

I would be grateful for any help as I am going to have a go over the weekend.

Leak is almost 100% breather kit, This piece of Poo had so many leaks on it when i had mine fitted it was scary.

Taking it of shoudl not be a big problem

After doing a search on the topic Wazzer it certainly does not have a good press does it. I am more keen than ever to extract it from my car now...but how????????. You agree that it gives the engine leak problems then. One thing, how badly would a vacuum leak affect performance on a ZED?

Help!!!!!!!!

you'd be surprised how much of a negative effect a vacuum leak (even a small one) can have on the performance of the car...especially if you're running high boost.

I check the airlines, plenum and intake on my car for vacuum-leaks on a regular basis and every time it amazes me how different the car feels when I have fixed leaks if there were any.

Simon, since you didn't install the b.kit yourself, you probably don't have the original crankcase ventilation hoses anymore...so you'll have to get those first through Nissan.

Once you have the hoses, you can just rip the kit off and bring everything back to it's originall state

Just send me an email and I can send you pictures of how everything should be connected, once you have removed the kit.

Cheerz Eric, That would be fantastic if you could send me the pictures. I have just spoken to the guy who install the kit about a year ago and he said that nothing was striped off the car. The kit was connected onto what pipework that was there. Would this be right??. I will send you an E-mail M8.

Perhaps my intake pipes are slightly out of place due to the bigger turbos ! but i had a fuckin helluva job gettin my stock breathers back on mint - hat to end up cutting them a bit frown.gif

They are filled with Mesh and are very inflexible ! - I would not throw the aftermarket kit away before you refit the stock ones - you will be in for a wrestle that is for sure !

Cheerz Nico.

One other question is on the stock pipe do they have some sort of valve inside. By the sounds of what the guy who installed it said he plumbed the kit into what was there. If not and he threw away the stock ones would I need to get this valve aswell as the??

Simon H

All the stock Breater system is self contained within the pipes - not sure but from looking at them i can't see there being a valve in there - just a lot of breather mesh

So to sum it up - All you need is the 2 pipes and retainer clips - Jubilees or whatever !

Thank you Nico, I will have a look to see if they are still there. If not I am off to get some new ones, hope they are not too costly.

in the stock crank case pipe you will have a 1.7mm restrictor and a kind of pipe cleaner brush to stop small debries, not that there should be any that is making there way to the compressor wheell,

remove piece of shit................

have you got any vaccum under your oil filler cap. unscrew slowly and listen for strong hiss.

also where does your idle needle point to now, make note of this before and after you remove kit.
