I've only had my lovely zed a couple of weeks, and already my g/f hates it!

She cites six reasons why my '94 uk-spec TT, low mileage, FSH purchase is a complete waste of money:

1. "Totally impractical for taking my mum (aged 83!) and kids (18/15/12)

out at the weekend." I disagree - mum and kids love it! (except mum is

too deaf to hear the turbos spool up...).

2. "Ridiculously expensive to maintain." (Fair cop)

3. "Won't fit in the garage, coz it's too wide and the door won't open."

Disagree - I could climb in and out thru the targa ....

4. "You wash it more often than you wash yourself." (Fair cop again).

5. "You drive like a granny over all the speed bumps we have around here."

(ok, she has me on that one too)

6. "Since you've bought it, you're always at the filling station." - Yes dear,

because it has a smaller fuel tank than my previous car.

At least she hasn't started the "either the zed goes or I do" routine yet, but if she does, I guess I'll have to be realistic, and move my baby on to a new home. If that happens, I'll post some pics of her so you can make me an offer (on the g/f, not the zed).

kerri didn't want me to sell my zed, she knew it was the only thing that kept me sane :D

Prop bearing gone too, but apart from that everything else good, had all the rust sorted out too new wheel arch seal repaired etc :)

My missus was exactly the same when I got my 1st one....2 yrs later and she has her own Zed !!

cant tar us all with the same brush!! i will foresake kids for the rest of my life to have a fast in ya face plaything, it was my ex that used to get on at me about the Zed and my obsession with her (and yes it was a male!!)

I have got 3 kids and we both have a zed - problem solved :)

I like the way you say "It was a male" Sarah

My wife has said all that and even banged her head getting in the car, with the targars off, how daft is that, but I work long hours, don't smoke, dont drink much and have always had a passion for cars so she leaves me alone.............................mostly :p

lol, get her to stand by the road and see exactly WHY we have to limp over speed bumps!

see thats why guys need to find girls with the same passion.... fast cars! then there is no arguing - unless of course its

1) who's car your going out in

2) who's driving

Oh dear, just make sure she has her own special car.

I have my zed and he has his RX7.

Sorted and we only ever fought over which car to use untill we started taking both out together.

I thought I had, took her to a couple of car shows to check her out, she seemed interested and we even had conversations about cars, but alas she was only fooling me so she could trap me into a life of husbandry

But slowly I am breaking free, and maybe in a few years time I will be able to do all the things i once did. :p

LOL!! i could think of far more reasons why women are impractical to keep!!

lol mine was like that with myzed when i had it, always moaning about the petrol, doing repairs, service costs etc..

then i showed her the history i had with the lotus, the last "c" service which is a major service for the car was almost 3 grand!!

now she says nothing.. especially as im doing all the work on this one myself!

Totally agree let her have her own special car, I have my zed and the gf has her Toyota corolla ae92 gti (it has got a celica gt4 engine in it soon to be running Motec management) and the only thing we fight over is what websites to look at she always has the bloody fensport site up!!

get her own computer as well then, and then single beds and no fighting over the covers either then all you got to do is push em together when you fancy a bit

It's simply a handy way of showing people who's boss.

Besides, who doesn't have a hot crack pipe to hand when these sort of things kick off?

No-one messes with you afterwards.

Plus there's the smell of burning flesh mixing with hot crack.

Funny you should say about two computers shes bought me a nice new laptop for xmas, hope the single beds are not next LOL!!
