Other than HID which i am looking to do in the next couple of weeks....

I remembered reading the forum a couple of years back about lining the 'inners' of the lights with reflective material (Think they were dipped, and done on an exchange basis).

Has anyone done this who can comment on whether it's worth doing prior to HID or just go with HID and forget the shiny lights?!!!

I read an old forum archive and MAC1 and ChrisC claim to have done this, and be doing this respectively back in 2002...any comments on doing this pre HID fellas?

The chromed incerts look very good and give the car a upto date look, but will not improve night visson to a noticable degree if you have HID's. I never bothered doing mine once I'd got the HID's because the HID headlights are awesome. So it ceased to be a priority.

im gonna paint mine when i fit hids at some point soon but its purly cosmetic

I decided against it in the end as I didn't think they'd look right on a silver car and I'm glad I didn't.

With HID's being such a massive improvement there's no point :)

Chrome headlight inserts are more about how they look rather than improving lighting....in fact if anything they reflect more light straight up into the sky than straight ahead.

It is however worth dissasembling the headlights and cleaning the insides.

I am also thinking of upgrading my lights as they are pretty naff on the 300's as standard. Just had a look bloody expensive 500 quid for Neons OUCH

I have HID lights fitted. One of the best mods on a Zed.

I also have "chrome inserts". As Legrath says they are about the look and dont improve the light output. I think they suit my red car, but I tend to agree that on a lighter coloured car it doesnt make much difference.

I also have a s/h pair of HIDs for sale. They are the same as the ones on my car. "Roxie Heart" make. These were sold on this forum by a Trader now departed. Outlander. Im guessing since I have had mine for 2 years that the ones I am selling are that sort of age too.

You can get a HID kit for £100 to £200 quid now and worth every penny. It's like a different car :)

Chrome inserts? Sorry to be dumb but what's that?

The black head light inserts chromed, if you look at your head lights, it basicly every thing that's black, but it will be chrome.
