I have 1991 import N/A , The redline is 7000rpm yet when i hit 6500 i get thrown against the windscreen almost like a fuel cut. Can anyone explain?

Still limited to 180kmh maybe, if your bombing your way up to that speed it might stop dead at it causing you to jerk forward??????

it does it in all gears though not at high speed. High revs

sounds as though you have some sort of rev limiter fitted

Sounds like your taco is not accurate and your hitting the rev limiter,

why are you pushing that hard this will only equal ££££££££££££££,

remember its 15 years old!!

 

Stock TT rev limit is 6800. Most chips raise the limit to 7200.

mine has been missing at around the same rpm's, mine also done what yours was doin but sorted it out by itself

Mine was doing the same thing at 5500 revs all gears

 

Seems to have sorted itself out since I started garaging the car

The ECU has 2 different rev limiters - moving and stationary ;) Not sure how the ECU detects it - presumably through the speed sensor. Worth getting the car on a consult and seeing if the ECU is picking up the speed signal ;)

Same problem, andy sounds about right.

I have run mine on the consult and NO signal, was told it may be dodgy de-limiter.Thats what i'm going to look at next.

Really is a pain hit 6,500 revs (just about to change gear i may add) and yes like hitting a wall, engine just dies for a couple of secs ! worse in top gear.

On the consult the injecters go right off then on again (i data logged it) so something is cutting the injecters i think.

I have got a water leak off the targa tube i think, is it related !?
