Any suggestions?

Bumper is off and car is SORN for the winter so now so I have plenty of time to complete any little jobs I should whilst I have this level of access.

I am really just talking pipes/hose replacements here but I am open to suggestions of a more expensive nature :wack: I have had the full 60K service, and have changed/upgraded the lower rad pipes already.

Bumper is off so that it can be modified to make the twin headlamps upgrade fit correctly, and to fit a splitter/change indicator setup and grill mesh etc.

Thats the black container behind the passenger side intercooler right?

What do I do with the piping - just blank it off or leave them venting?

Cheers. :)

What does removing it do

stops it from completely blocking the intercooler! :)

Take the headlights out and give the inside a good clean , you won,t believe how much crap builds up on the inside of the lenses making your headlights even duller than they supposed to be :headvswal

OK - will def do the CC removal - thanks guys :)

Is there ever a need to remove/flush/clean the IC's?

Hi Andy,

What's the twin headlamp upgrade?

Vijay

stops it from completely blocking the intercooler! :)

Ok then, so what does it do in the first place and why don't we need it.

It removes petrol vapouor from the fuel tank and burns it off when the engine is running. There to prevent vapours poluting the atmosphere - ie not needed ;)

They are also known for giving boost leaks which are hard to trace (obviously)

Cheers, a job for the list then

Hi Vijay - how's things going?

It's the ZCentre twin fiberglass headlamp 'upgrade' - I can't live with the 2cm gap that the standard install would leave between the bottom of the new headlamp units and the Stillen/Zenon front bumper. Luke did provide a couple of additional stick-on 'extensions' for the headlamp (when I complained) - but I prefer to mod the bumper for a better look with regards all of the shut-lines.

In my opinion they (the headlights) should be provided with a lot more meat on the lower edge so their is scope to blend them in to fit in any scenario. I think Luke is on the case - not sure! - Luke???

I know it's an emotional subject (headlight change from standard look), and that they can now effectively be upgraded to function in the dark with HID etc. But I wanted to upgrade the look of my car and the twin headlight conversion does it for me - I know it's not everyones idea of a good upgrade!

They have also allowed me to fit full 'angel eyes' and I have to say they look fab!

Next issue is with the Stillen/Zenon style bumper - I think I may remove/blend the sidelight/indicators out and use porche or mazda side repeaters instead - just leaving the two fog's as they are. The front will look a little busy otherwise I feel!

Are you considering same Vijay? :smash:

Andy

Hello Andy,

Yeah, been looking at them too but can't seem to make up my mind :( Looking around to see if there's anything else that can be done :)

A couple of pics...

Getting some idea of how it will look now..

And the issue was...

http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o307/andygp123/KIF_0006.jpg

This is where I was creating the correct profile for the bumper extensions & prior to the glass/filler being applied. Had to do it this way because the work will overflow from the bumper section on to the wing section - so I did all the bodywork as if the wing/bumper were one piece - then created/cut the two as required. The bumper is now off for completion.

Cheeers

Why was it such a bad fit? I noticed it saus you don't use the original rubber seals but didn't realise it left a gap :(

Vijay,

Their not designed to be used with the original rubber seals - that was just an early mock-up on one of Luke's ZCentre's show cars I believe he told me! It is not possible to fit using the rubbers from the originals - I believe it states this in the sales blurb on the site.

Cheers

"Fibre glass sugar scooped headlights.

Supplied with hella main beams, dipped beams and side lights.

The nissan OEM dipped beams light output are rubbish.

With these Z Centre headlights the dipped beams are

far superior and are available for right hand drive

and left hand drive 300zx's.

Easy to fit but require painting.

Do not require Original nissan rubbers.

Sold as pair."
