Nothing heavy, just wondered what they do.

Door cards off, on the driver's side there's a small black box secured to the door. What does this do? Is it something to do with the central locking? It's on the outer part of the frame closest to the driver.

Also, in both doors, there are two connectors that aren't plugged into anything.

Sounds like old connectors for central locking or alarm, if not then buggerd if i know, maybe you could have a 4 door nissan 300zx, but they have covered the rear doors over. lol, i found a 12-13mm Snap on ratchet spanner, under my intake plenium when i took it off, it aint mine, but is now a welcome addidtion to my tool kit.

Not sure what the spare wire does but I've got them too - maybe some kind of diagnostic connector for the windows? No idea really LOL

The black box is the relay/control for the one touch drivers window. Quite often gets dry joints and needs re-soldering ;)

LOL!

One thing I've noticed...you can tell that various bits of it have been apart before. Slightly different poppers olding the arch liners on, the odd little screw missing. The whole door card on one side was secured in a different manner to the other..ie, the top buckle clamp wasn't even screwed to the door one side and one speaker in the front is totally different to the other! LOL

Going to buy all new clips and bolts etc for the front, so it's pretty much factory standard.

After taking the arch liners out and the front bumper off, can really tell the car's been well looked after. Not a hint of any nasties, looks really good and solid. Quite happy. :)

Took mine apart to replace a window motor and it's a pain in the arse to do. That might be what the spare wire is for as it's a big job to get the motor out for testing.

Found the door is rotting through at the bottom but it's not visible from outside yet :(

Spare wire - heated mirrors? Maybe even for the individual speaker amps fitted on some models?

Got the service manual open on the right page - where was the connector???

It hangs out of a hole just above the speaker i think...

2 or 3 core wire with a connector plug on it.

from what you describe if this wire goes into the belt winder i think it's a pre tensioner sensor for the seat belt to take up the slack in the event of an accident...bla bla..maybe ?!

No it's not that one, it's a big thick cable with a plug on it near the front of the door.
