300zx/skyline/pulsar - Speedo Converter/delimiter Chip

Hi. Does anyone have any experience of this product? Does it do what they say? Is it easy to fit?

My Z has the 180 kph speedo and odo, so I'd like to try it. It also states it will link into the cruise control and let you set that at higher speeds.

Knowing what I know now, I'd convert the existing speedo by changing the resistor internally and remove the speed limiter by changing the chip in the ECU. This is the 'right' solution, rather than messing with those convertor boxes. The only possible improvement would be to use a UK speedo, or instrument cluster, but they are pretty rare these days, as many people want to go down that route.

I have all the rare bits you can't find :tongue:

Tried this myself. The instructions aint great as the colours don't match. I ended up getting UK clocks and a chip off andyp. Was far easier to do in the end even if it was a bit more expensive.

Can't recommend these chips at all. All that happened with me was that the clocks didn't work at all. I even had an electrical guy have a go at it in the end to no avail.

A false economy in my exerience.

I have one identical for sale, £30 delivered. I used this for a long time with absolutley no problems on my Jap import.

When I got my second Z I dumped the speedo converter chip as it was just causing too many problems with the PAS and the speedo was just on off. Personally I dont really give a crap about the car being limited to 115MPH. Not likey to get the car that fast most of the time.

Does it convert the oddometer to miles as well as the speedo?
