i am in the process of smoothing the stone chip effect on my pearl white 1995 zx, i sent the petrol flap with a note saying nissan 1995 (like i always do)to the paint shop when i was ordering paint so they could get me a good match, when they delivered the paint it says honda pearl white and looks like a good match. i have been painting for years and have a body shop but have never experienced anything like this before. i was just wondering if any owners of pearl white zx's have had problems when ordering and getting a good paint match on their pearl white z.

FunkiSi has done/doing this. Sure he will be along in a moment.

Ok, see my rides for what I've done to my car. I've just had the bumpers smoothed. Next week, it's going in for a full respray because the pearl has discoloured over the years. The colour match was really out. It's a Nissan Colour, not a Honda Colour, so I'd be sending the paint back to get them to double check as pearl paint is not cheap.

....unless of course yours is the newer pearl white. There is a code for it via a link on here, but can't find it.

si, the car at the moment looks the dogs nuts..one of the best ZED's I've seen and of course the best color ..also are you keeping the black strip off?

Really?? Thanks mate. That's brought a smile to my face. No, I've just put the strip on the rear bumper (bought the original accent line from Nissan) Found it needed it. Kinda wanna keep certain bits stock on it. Just minor tweeks etc.

nay worries m8ty..it is !! ..have ya got a pic of the rear bumper ? , wasnt sure if I was going to put one back on my own..

No, I'll take one before it goes back down to the bodyshop. I'm stripping all the exterior trim off at the moment. Will try and get one done on Saturday.

Got an auto detailer to polish the new paintwork to a glass finish about a month after I get it back. :)

thanks dude ..yeah looking forward to seeing it

Just realised how filthy that rear bumper is. I had to drive a few miles in the rain! I nearly cried. :(

Hey Si,

I've just had a look. Gotta love that 99-spec rear spoiler and smoothed look

Really suits the pearl white to a tee, mate!

Richard :)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Thanks Richard! Let's hope we can meet up next year sometime when it's all as good as I can get it. Would like you to see it after being there when I bought it.

That would be good, Si. The car looked mighty fine then but I know you won't over-do the body mods. I too think stock (ish) is best - the 300zx was one of the best looking cars out of the box, why mess with an automotive work of art?

I mean, no-one in their right mind would alter the body-styling of a DB5, would they??

Can't wait to see the finished product!

Richard
